Introduction
The Institute of Finance and Accounting of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City was formerly the Faculty of Economics – Industrial College No. 4, established in 1998. Over the years, together with the development of the University, the Institute of Finance and Accounting has become one of the reputable institutions in Vietnam for training in the fields of Accounting – Auditing and Finance – Banking. The Institute is widely recognized and highly appreciated by employers nationwide.
Functions
- Responsible for education and scientific research in the fields of Finance, Accounting, and Auditing.
- Responsible for developing and improving training programs.
- Responsible for organizing short‑term training and professional development programs in accordance with regulations.
Duties
- Develop and implement plans for teaching theoretical courses, practical training, internships, and extracurricular activities according to the University's annual academic plan; organize assessments and examinations according to the teaching schedule.
- Manage lecturers, staff members, and students of the Institute according to the authority delegated by the Rector.
- Compile curricula, textbooks, and teaching materials; conduct research to improve teaching methods in order to enhance education quality.
- Develop plans for lecturer training and professional development; participate in academic seminars, teaching workshops, class observations, and evaluations of teaching quality by semester, academic year, and training program.
- Plan and implement scientific research activities and international cooperation; collaborate with scientific organizations, technology institutions, and businesses related to the Institute’s training fields.
- Manage and effectively utilize facilities and technical infrastructure assigned to the Institute.
- Develop plans for faculty development, academic programs, and infrastructure to support education and scientific research, while strengthening quality assurance in education.
- Develop and implement short‑term training programs, professional skill training, and enterprise‑based training programs.
- Provide consulting services in finance, accounting, and business management.
Academic Staff
As of early May 2024, the Institute of Finance and Accounting has 117 personnel, including 111 lecturers (02 Professors, 05 Associate Professors, 35 PhD holders, and 69 Master's degree holders) and 6 supporting staff members (3 Master's degree holders, 2 Bachelor's degree holders, and 1 College graduate).
Most lecturers of the Institute are trained in their respective fields at reputable universities both domestically and internationally. They are enthusiastic, dedicated educators who always support and guide students. Many of them also possess extensive professional experience working in large corporations, banks, and leading auditing firms in Vietnam.
