Introduction
The Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City was established on December 24, 2004 based on the upgrade of Industrial College No. 4. During the process of development, the management of the network and server systems was handled by the System Administration Team under the responsible department. In August 2019, the System Administration Center of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City was established based on the upgrade of the System Administration Team, according to Decision No. 1296/QĐ–ĐHCN dated July 29, 2019 issued by the President of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. This establishment aims to meet the development needs of information technology within the University as well as the rapid global advancement of information technology.Functions
- Advise and assist the President in managing, operating, and handling issues related to the server system, internal network, internet network, and IT applications supporting the University.
- Establish backup and redundancy mechanisms for the University's database systems.
- Organize recruitment and training of short-term information technology courses.
Duties
- Ensure IT technical infrastructure for the University's general operations; manage and operate server systems, network systems, and IT equipment across the University.
- Organize and manage the University's data (according to assigned responsibilities).
- Develop periodic backup scenarios and models.
- Provide consultation on technical conditions and standards when investing in IT-related equipment.
- Manage the University's email system.
- Administer the University's WiFi system.
- Administer and configure the University's PMT-EMS software system.
- Research, propose, organize development, receive, and implement IT projects and professional software serving training and management activities; coordinate with internal and external units to research and develop IT resources supporting management and training to synchronize data according to assigned responsibilities.
- Ensure data safety and information security for software systems assigned by the University.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the center's operations and propose solutions to improve quality.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Board of Management.
