Introduction
The Office of Science Management and International Affairs is a functional unit under the direct supervision of the Board of Rectors of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH). The Office serves as the focal point responsible for organizing, implementing, and managing activities related to scientific research and international cooperation within the University.
The Office was established in the early years of the University and has undergone several stages of development. Its activities play an important role in supporting the University’s academic and research development and receive strong attention and guidance from the University leadership.
Under the direct direction of the Board of Rectors, the Office acts as the central unit responsible for coordinating and implementing scientific research and international cooperation activities throughout the University.
Functions and Responsibilities
I. Functions
1.Scientific Research Management
- Advise the Board of Rectors on the management and development of science and technology activities within the University in order to generate new knowledge, technologies, solutions, and products, thereby strengthening the research capacity of staff and students and enhancing the quality of education and training;
- Develop strategies and plans for scientific research activities of staff and students;
- Identify research topics, organize research implementation, and manage intellectual property rights.
2. International Affairs
- Advise and serve as the focal point for coordinating the University’s external relations and international cooperation activities under the direction of the Board of Rectors;
- Provide protocol and reception services for international delegations visiting the University;
- Organize international conferences and seminars as directed by the Board of Rectors;
- Coordinate with relevant units to develop international cooperation projects.
II. Responsibilities
1. Scientific Research Management

Develop strategies and plans for scientific and technological research activities within the University;

Promote and manage scientific research activities;

Prepare reports and manage scientific research data within the University;

Organize scientific conferences and academic forums;
-
Seek and mobilize funding sources for research projects;
-
Promote research initiatives among staff and students;
-
Manage and develop the Journal of Science and Technology of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City;

Facilitate the transfer and commercialization of research outcomes;

Manage and support the development of textbooks and academic materials within the University;
-
Organize and manage annual professional skills competitions for students in technology faculties;
-
Implement quality assurance and evaluation for scientific research activities;
-
Provide additional support for scientific research activities when required;

Participate in the University’s Science and Education Council;
-
Participate in the Institutional Professorship and Associate Professorship Council.
2. International Affairs
-
Develop annual and long-term international cooperation plans for the University;

Coordinate the University’s external relations activities;
-
Compile and report on international cooperation activities to the Board of Rectors;
-
Provide reception and protocol services for international delegations;
-
Coordinate the organization of specialized international conferences and seminars;

Participate in international projects and joint training programs;

Manage representative offices and personnel of foreign partners operating at the University;

Certify translated documents when required
