General Introduction:
The Faculty of Commerce and Tourism of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City was established on June 1, 2005. After more than 17 years of operation, the Faculty has trained 16 cohorts with 21,677 students, of which more than 14,000 students have graduated. Every year, students of the Faculty participate in and achieve high results in city‑level and national professional skill competitions. Many graduates have successfully defended their master’s theses at the age of 24 and have become founders of startups or hold important positions in government agencies and reputable enterprises. The Faculty currently offers five majors: International Business, E‑commerce, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Hotel Management, and Restaurant and Catering Service Management. The E‑commerce program was approved by the Ministry of Education and Training for enrollment in the 2013–2014 academic year (one of the first two universities in Vietnam to offer this program), and the program successfully achieved AUN accreditation in the 2019–2020 academic year. Teaching activities combine theory with practice, classroom learning with extracurricular activities, and both face‑to‑face and online learning through an effective E‑Learning system. The Faculty regularly organizes seminars, academic talks, and discussions that encourage self‑learning, creativity, and independent thinking, while also developing teamwork skills for students.
The Faculty currently has 53 full‑time lecturers. Most lecturers hold at least a master's degree, including three Associate Professors. Many lecturers obtained their graduate degrees or professional training in countries such as the United States, Australia, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, Switzerland, Hungary, South Korea, and Taiwan. They have extensive teaching and management experience at major universities and also work as managers or experts in tourism companies, import‑export enterprises, and hotels. The Faculty’s academic staff are professionally trained, ethically responsible, and highly competent in professional knowledge, foreign languages, and modern educational methods, contributing to the development of the Faculty in accordance with the university’s motto: “Innovation, Reaching New Heights – Dynamism and Global Integration.” In addition to its core lecturers, the Faculty also collaborates with many leading experts and guest lecturers in the five training fields to deliver lectures and professional seminars, helping students connect academic knowledge with practical experience.
