Introduction

Functions

• Advise the President on organizing and managing information and library activities.
• Organize and manage information and library services; apply information technology in management and reader services.
• Provide information products and library services to users according to the University's requirements.
• Organize and manage personnel, assets, information products, and library services of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City.

Duties

• The Library Center is responsible for managing, supplementing, and preserving books, newspapers, journals, tapes, discs, electronic documents, theses and dissertations defended at the University, university publications, and other archival materials; guiding and protecting copyright of materials managed by the University.
• Supplement and develop domestic and international information resources.
• Process and organize information resources, arrange, store, preserve, and manage documents and information resources.
• Organize services and guide staff, lecturers, and students to effectively search, access, and use information resources.
• Cooperate with units within the University to supplement high-quality documents and databases.
• Develop training and professional development plans to improve professional expertise, foreign languages, and information technology skills for library staff.
• Manage all facilities, equipment, and documents of the Library; conduct annual inventory of library collections and facilities; remove outdated or damaged materials according to University regulations.
• Cooperate with libraries and information centers domestically and internationally to exchange documents and professional experience.
• Submit activity reports monthly, by semester, and annually to the University Board of Management and submit reports when requested by the Board of Management, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
• Manage the University Heritage Room and research rooms.
• Manage and provide professional guidance for libraries at the Thanh Hoa campus and the Quang Ngai branch.
• Coordinate with the Student Affairs Office to print and issue new student cards annually.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the President.

Operational Information

• Digitize and computerize all information and library activities. 
• Develop and improve the electronic library.
• Meet the learning and research needs of lecturers, staff, and students throughout the University.
• Develop cooperation networks with major libraries and information centers nationwide.
• Regularly organize events such as exhibitions, document displays, book introductions, book festivals, and writing competitions about books on major commemorative occasions.

• Certificate of Merit from the Executive Committee of the IUH Trade Union for the academic year 2021–2022.
• Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union Executive Committee for the academic year 2014–2015 under Decision No. 25/QĐ-CĐCT 2015.
• Two Certificates of Merit from the IUH Trade Union Executive Committee for the academic year 2014–2015.
• Two Certificates of Merit from the IUH Trade Union Executive Committee for the academic year 2012–2013.
• Many individuals recognized as grassroots-level emulation soldiers, ministerial-level emulation soldiers, and recipients of Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The development strategy of the Library Center of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City is to build and develop the Center following the model of a modern electronic information center.
