General Introduction:
The Faculty of Information Technology is steadily affirming its reputation with the motto: “Training students with strong theoretical foundations, excellent practical skills, and the ability to master new technologies.”
Academic Programs:
The Faculty of Information Technology currently offers four main majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Systems. With nearly 90 full-time lecturers trained at prestigious universities both domestically and internationally—80% of whom hold doctoral or master's degrees—along with collaboration and support from many reputable lecturers from Vietnam and abroad, the faculty has a strong academic advantage.
The Faculty has focused on evaluating and adjusting training programs at various levels including university, college, and intermediate levels across different training systems such as full-time programs, bridging programs, and advanced training programs that meet modern technological and engineering requirements. The system of textbooks, reference materials, lectures, and question banks has also been well invested in. The Faculty has established close relationships with reputable organizations both domestically and internationally in areas such as research, training, software solutions, technology production, and business.
Scientific Research:
Scientific research is one of the key activities of the Faculty. The Faculty of Information Technology actively encourages and supports lecturers in conducting research and implementing scientific projects at various levels. Many research works of international significance have been published. In addition, student scientific research activities have also shown positive development.
Other Activities:
Many academic and extracurricular activities for students are also actively organized by the Faculty. These activities not only help students relax and develop life skills but also motivate them to review and apply the knowledge they have learned to solve real-world problems. Competitions such as the Informatics Olympiad and the Information Security Contest are typical examples. In the 2012 nationwide Software Solution Competition organized by Microsoft, a student team from the Faculty won the first prize and had the honor of representing Vietnamese students at the international Imagine Cup competition. In addition, students of the Faculty of Information Technology have also demonstrated their competence in national and regional skill competitions, winning many ASEAN gold medals in recent years.
