Introduction
The Dormitory Management Office was established under Decision No. 12846/2007/QĐ-ĐHCN dated September 25, 2007 of the President, based on the former Service and Dormitory Management Office established in 2000. The dormitory is located within the campus of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City at 12 Nguyen Van Bao Street, Ward 01, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City. The dormitory currently consists of two high-rise buildings with a total of 241 rooms accommodating more than 3,500 students.Functions
The Dormitory is an administrative and service unit responsible for advising and assisting the President in organizing and managing all activities within the student dormitory area. It organizes accommodation, living, and study conditions for resident students while ensuring security, order, hygiene, and safety, aiming to build the dormitory into a healthy and cultured educational environment with convenient living and learning conditions.Duties
- Advise the President on the development orientation of the University dormitory to become a cultural, civilized, safe, orderly, hygienic, green, clean, and beautiful dormitory, and regularly develop plans for infrastructure and personnel investment in accordance with the development of the University.
- Implement preventive measures and develop plans to maintain security and order, promptly address incidents such as theft or conflicts, and effectively implement fire prevention and fighting within the dormitory and across the University.
- Organize accommodation, daily living, and activities for students in the dormitory; receive and manage resident students according to the conditions and standards regulated by the University; arrange rooms, disseminate and guide the implementation of regulations for resident students and dormitory rules; maintain scientific student records and regularly communicate with families to enhance student management.
Staff
The office currently has 32 staff members, including 13 with university or college degrees and 19 with intermediate-level qualifications.
Facilities
The dormitory includes two high-rise buildings: Building I with 13 floors and Building G with 9 floors.
The buildings are equipped with two elevator systems, four staircases, and emergency corridors connected to adjacent buildings D and F. Fire prevention and firefighting systems, automatic fire alarms, and emergency stairways are installed for evacuation. With more than 241 rooms used for accommodation, work, and activities, the dormitory can accommodate more than 3,500 students. Security cameras monitor hallways and staircases on each floor. The dormitory is equipped with a public announcement system, information boards providing daily and quarterly updates for students, and internet access for each room. Some upgraded floors are also equipped with additional facilities such as washing machines and personal lockers.
Operational Information
- Regularly organize cultural and sports activities for dormitory students within the University as well as activities organized by the Student Cultural Center. For many years, dormitory students have achieved numerous awards in programs organized by the Student Cultural Center such as the "Dormitory Student Singing Festival" and the "Citywide Dormitory Student Sports Tournament".
- Coordinate with the University Youth Union and Student Association to regularly organize volunteer activities that attract hundreds of student participants each time, such as blood donation campaigns, Green Sunday, and the Spring Volunteer Campaign.
- Annually cooperate with the Go Vap District Fire Prevention and Fighting Police, Preventive Health Center, and Traffic Police to organize training and awareness programs on fire prevention and fighting, rescue and emergency response, food safety and hygiene, first aid, and traffic safety.
