On May 5, 2026, the University held a working session with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the world’s leading university ranking organizations, to open strategic directions that improve IUH’s position in international rankings.
Attending the meeting were representatives of the University’s Board of Management, including Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Trung Hiếu, Standing Vice Chairman of the IUH Strategic Development Council and Vice Chairman of the Scientific and Educational Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đàm Sao Mai, Vice Rector; leaders of the Office of Testing and Quality Assurance; and representatives from related units.
QS currently ranks among the world’s most prestigious university ranking organizations, with a comprehensive evaluation system that covers academic reputation, employer reputation, research capability, and internationalization. When IUH engages directly with QS, it gains a more updated and comprehensive understanding of evaluation criteria, allowing it to develop strategies that enhance its standing in international rankings.
“Direct engagement with QS not only helps the University better understand ranking criteria, but also provides an opportunity to review its development strategy in a more substantive direction, based on data and effectiveness,” shared Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Trung Hiếu, Standing Vice Chairman of the IUH Strategic Development Council and Vice Chairman of the Scientific and Educational Council.
In recent years, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City has focused on improving training quality, promoting applied research, and accelerating digital transformation. At the same time, the University’s internal quality assurance system has been enhanced through a data-driven, evidence-based approach, gradually meeting international evaluation standards. Improving IUH’s position in QS rankings has been identified as one of the University’s key strategic goals in the coming period.
Representatives from QS are discussing rankings and international cooperation orientations with the University.
