Fully funded master's scholarships, together with opportunities to study, conduct research, and work in an international environment, are now available to engineering students at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) through a collaborative program between industry and academia in Taiwan.
Meeting between the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), and Cloud Network Technology Singapore Pte. Ltd. (CNTS) to discuss future collaboration initiatives.
On June 16, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City held a working session to introduce the Vietnam Master's Program under the Industrial-Academia Educational Cooperation model. The program is jointly implemented by Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) in Taiwan and Cloud Network Technology Singapore Pte. Ltd. (CNTS). CNTS is a member of the Foxconn Industrial Internet Group.
Representing IUH were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đàm Sao Mai, Vice Rector, together with leaders from the Office of Science Management and International Affairs, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology, and the Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Engineering.
Representing the partner institutions were Prof. Dr. Jyh-tong Teng, Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Senior Advisor to the Office of International and Cross-Strait Education at Chung Yuan Christian University, and Prof. Dr. Dang Thanh Trung, Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Transportation and Energy at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
One highlight that attracted significant interest from both faculty members and students was the fully funded master's scholarship program for engineering students. According to information provided by CYCU and CNTS, the program plans to recruit 50 Vietnamese students in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, automation, and heat and refrigeration engineering. Successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial support covering tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses, insurance, and other allowances, with a total scholarship value of up to NT$688,800 per student (approximately VND 600 million).
Outstanding students will also have the opportunity to participate in a dual master's degree program with partner universities in the United States, providing broader opportunities for international study and career development.
Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đàm Sao Mai stated: "Internationalization is one of IUH's strategic priorities, aimed at providing students with greater access to advanced learning environments, enhancing their global competencies, and strengthening their career prospects in an increasingly interconnected world. The University consistently encourages and supports students in participating in international exchange, study, and research programs, enabling them to broaden their perspectives and improve their competitiveness in the global labor market."
During the session, Prof. Dr. Jyh-tong Teng introduced an overview of Chung Yuan Christian University, one of Taiwan's leading institutions in engineering education and research and shared the University's industry-academia collaboration model for developing highly qualified professionals aligned with industry needs. According to him, the program not only provides financial support but also offers students the opportunity to study in an international environment, participate in research projects, and access career opportunities with technology companies after graduation.

On this occasion, representatives of CYCU also awarded Summer Camp scholarships in Taiwan to two IUH students, Tran Quoc An and Nguyen Quoc Huyen, both majoring in Heat and Refrigeration Engineering Technology. The scholarships will enable them to experience an international learning environment, participate in cultural exchange activities, and explore CYCU's academic programs, helping them shape their future academic and career pathways.
Representatives of Chung Yuan Christian University and CNTS also visited and held a working session with the Faculty of Heat and Refrigeration Engineering at IUH.
The working session not only provided valuable information about postgraduate study opportunities for IUH students but also further strengthened the University's partnerships with international institutions.
