On the evening of 26/3/2024, the opening ceremony of the university sport competition took place at hall E4, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. This is an event in a series of activities to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26/3/1932 – 26/3/2024) and the 73rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam Industry and Trade (14/5/1951 – 19/5/2024).

The University-wide Games will take place from March 26, 2024 to May 5, 2024, with more than 1,200 faculty, staff and student athletes participating.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Le Ngoc Son – Chairman of the University Union sent wishes to the athletes participating in the competition to achieve high results. "Each team, each athlete participating in the tournament not only promotes the capacity and strength of competition to achieve the best performance but also promotes the spirit of solidarity, the exchange and sharing between teams, units participating in the competition, contributing to arousing the passion for sports, physical training and development of the sport movement at IUH."

At the Opening Ceremony, athlete Nguyen Thi Kim Duyen, a female volleyball player representing the Institute of Finance and Accounting, stood before more than 1,200 athletes and solemnly pledged to compete with a noble, honest, and impartial spirit, staying true to the essence of sportsmanship.

Representing the refereeing team, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, a Lecturer at the National Defense and Physical Education Center, took an oath to officiate the season with integrity and fairness.

Also, during the ceremony, representatives from 52 delegations (comprising 35 faculty-staff delegations and 17 student delegations) received the competition flag, pledging to embark on a season marked by breakthrough performances. They vowed to compete fiercely, learn from one another, foster growth, and give their all with enthusiasm and passion. Together, they committed to striving for success and creating an unforgettable Games experience.
