On 14 March 2019, the opening ceremony of the training section of the Senior Strategic Leadership Programme under the United Kingdom – Vietnam Higher Education Partnership (UK-VN HEP) was held at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH).
It was a pleasure for IUH to receive the visit of Sir Ian Gibbons - British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms Hoang Van Anh - Director, Education and Society, Ms Nguyen Phuong Chi - Education Manager, Ms Phan Thi Bao Phi - Programme Manager, Higher Education, British Council in Vietnam, together with the two experts: Ms Mairwen Harris - Project Business Partner, Universities Wales, on behalf of Global Wales, and Ms Jo Chaffer, Trainer from Advance Higher Education, United Kingdom. To IUH participants were Dr Nguyen Thien Tue – President together with members of the Board of Directors and other Deans and Directors of IUH’s academic departments and functional offices.

The United Kingdom – Vietnam Higher Education Partnership (UK-VN HEP) aims at meeting the need of Vietnam Higher Education development and UK, especially, supporting the strategy of internationalizing higher education by Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training. The British Council in Vietnam, from the period of 2018-201, will distribute the budget supporting collaborative projects among Vietnamese universities and United Kingdom institutions participating in the network.
Under the United Kingdom – Vietnam Higher Education Partnership (UK-VN HEP), IUH as the Vietnam southern partner, organizes the second workshop Senior Strategic Leadership with participation of the 5 Vietnamese universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Engineering and Technology, VNU Hanoi, Danang University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Ho Chi Minh City. The workshop lasts in two days, from 14 to 15 March 2019 with important contents of innovative and professional training methodologies by the two experts from Global Wales.

At the opening ceremony, on behalf of IUH, Dr Nguyen Thien Tue – President shown his appreciation to the presence of Sir Ian Gibbons - British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City as well as representatives from Vietnamese universities partners joining the workshop. President Tue also delivered his wishes to the workshop a success and effectiveness as expected.
