In addition, IUH is receiving applications for tuition fee extensions for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year for students whose families were impacted by the floods.
For cases suffering the most severe losses, the University will waive 100% of tuition fees for the second semester.
We hope that this timely assistance will help students feel reassured and continue their studies despite the unprecedented losses they and their families are facing.”
In recent days, the IUH Youth Union has also directed its efforts toward the Central region through various practical activities, such as collecting clothing and essential supplies to send to flood-affected communities, while continuing to support IUH students in need.
Sharing about the initiative, Mr. Lê Văn Hoàng, Secretary of the IUH Youth Union, said: “Since November 22, the Youth Union has called on lecturers and students to contribute what they can — clean clothes, instant noodles, rice, drinking water, blankets, raincoats, and other necessities. With the spirit of solidarity and compassion, we have received heartfelt contributions from teachers and students across the University.”
In response to the Vietnam Fatherland Front's call to support flood-hit communities, IUH continued to uphold its tradition of unity.
The University Board and the Labour Union Executive Committee agreed to encourage each staff member to donate one day’s salary; the University Board contributed 5 million VND per person, while heads and deputy heads of affiliated units contributed 2 million VND per person.
Beyond these contributions, during Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20, IUH staff and employees donated directly, bringing the total support to 4.328 billion VND.
Speaking about the significance of this meaningful effort, Dr. Lê Ngọc Sơn, President of the Labour Union and Director of the Institute of International & Postgraduate Training, shared:
“Seeing the people of Central Vietnam struggle under the impact of storms and floods, we simply could not remain on the sidelines. One day’s salary may not seem much, but when an entire community joins hands, it becomes a powerful source of encouragement."
