The students-with-5- merit movement launched by the Vietnam Students' Union has been widely implemented by the Student Union of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. Over the years of launching, the University Student Union has gained many achievements, in which the number and quality of students who achieved the title of Students with 5 Merits are constantly increasing.

With the consent of the Party Committee - The Board of Rectors, in the exciting atmosphere of emulation to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the IUH establishment (November 11, 1956 - November 11, 2021); aiming to welcome the Congress of IUH Youth Union’s representatives, the 11th term of 2022-2024, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Students' Union of IUH held a ceremony to honor "Students with 5 Merits" in the academic year 2020 - 2021 and launched the students-with-5-merits movement, the Student with 5 Merits Festival in 2022.

Representative from the Party Committee - The Board of Rectors is Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Hồng - Member of the Party Committee, Vice Rector.

Department representative is Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thương - Party member, Director of the Information and Communication Center, Former Secretary of the School Delegation for the 9th term; IUH Union representative is Comrade Huỳnh Phú Vinh – Secretary of IUH Union, Mr. Ngô Đình Luật – President of the Student Union, along with the comrades representing the Associated Organ from the Faculty – Institute and 216 institution-level students with 5 merits

In recent years, together with students nationwide, the "Students with 5 Merits" movement has been launched and implemented by the Vietnam Students' Union to create an environment for students to train and improve themselves, encouraging students to strive to meet 5 criteria:  "Good learning - Good ethics - Good volunteering - Good fitness - Good integration"

In the academic year 2020-2021, the Student Union continues to promote the movement at all affiliated units. The selection process is carefully taken to pick the most rewarding representatives. Accordingly, the Executive Board of the University Student Union has commended 155 students who achieved the title of "Students with 5 merits" at the school level, among whom, 53 students winning the title in 2 consecutive years and 08 students winning the title for 3 consecutive years.

On behalf of the Party Committee - Board of Rectors, Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Hồng - Member of the Party Committee, Vice Rector praised the achievements of typical individuals, and expected and wished that they would inspire others to strive so that our university will have more and more elite individuals, communication ambassadors introducing to the community a dynamic, creative university system, ready to promote the mission, responsibility for building and developing society.
