On 26th September 2019, at the 7th Military Region Stadium, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) solemnly celebrated its Job Fair and the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2019-2020, welcoming over 10,000 new students and 2,000 students representing for all different faculties. The leaders from Ministry of Industry and Trade, Party Committee of the Centrally run Businesses' Sector, local and national agencies, enterprises, donors, and staff of IUH were attending the ceremony.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, IUH President Nguyen Thien Tue delivered his opening remark to the new academic year. The academic year 2018- 2019 was a meaningful one with many highlighted achievement, for instance, in term of quality assurance in accordance with AUN-QA and ABET criteria; research projects, especially to the increasing number of papers published on international journals of ISI/Scopus; going ahead in innovating teaching facilities to adapt to the Industry 4.0 with a number of workshops and simulation laboratories, particularly, the project incorporated between Siemens, Germany to build the “i4.0 Smart Factory Lab" with investment cost of $US4.0 million including $US750,000 from the university as counterpart fund. In addition, student counselling and supporting activities have been done in synchronizing. IUH has set up relationships with over 500 both domestic and foreign to give students a hand in term of internship and providing scholarship as well as proving employment after graduation.

According to President Nguyen Thien Tue, those achievement obtained last academic year was the important base that create convenient conditions for IUH to complete missions of the next coming academic year. The most important objective of IUH is to enhance teaching quality and international integration, aiming with the objective that, by 2023, 100 percent of appointed academic programs are certified being compliance with AUN-QA and ABET criteria.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, President Nguyen Thien Tue expressed his thankfulness to the new students for their trust on IUH as a right choice of study, also, to those enterprises and donors for their accompanying on IUH’s development, especially, to their contribution to the Low income student scholarship fund of IUH.

In his remark, Mr Do Thang Hai – the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) showed his happiness on IUH’s achievement as well as highly recognized the efforts of IUH staff and students last academic year. “The university, as a whole, continuously pays a great effort to make IUH become a key national institution with a leading role to the development of institutions governed by MoIT, being ranked in the top 10 of Vietnam leading application-oriented universities, as qualified as advanced regional countries in term of training high quality human resource”, he said.

On this occasion, IUH awarded its bonuses to the top newcomers of the 2019 enrollment and to the excellent students with great study results in academic year 2018 – 2019 in order to encourage their study attitude. Also, IUH expressed its thankfulness to the enterprises for their accompanying on its development in the past few years by bunches of flowers and thank-you letters.

To elaborate the outcome achieved last year, IUH is keen on the objectives of 1) increasing activities of education quality assurance; creating an innovative, dynamic, and integrated working and studying environment; forming a friendly, enthusiastic, and kindly service attitudes.
