The IUH team received awards at the Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad 2025
In 2025, the competition attracted 340 contestants from 100 universities and colleges across the country, competing in two categories, the Specialized Informatics Track and the Non-Specialized Informatics Track. The level of competition was extremely high, with the overall award rate remaining below 40 percent. In this context, IUH selected six students to participate and delivered a particularly impressive outcome, as 100 percent of IUH contestants received official awards, including one First Prize, three Second Prizes, and two Third Prizes.
This achievement not only demonstrates the outstanding capability of each individual student but also reflects the consistency, sustainability, and systematic approach in Information Technology education and student development at IUH. Compared with the overall landscape, where only about 5% of contestants achieved First Prize, 10% achieved Second Prize, and 25% achieved Third Prize, IUH’s award rate ranked among the top of the entire competition, standing alongside the nation’s leading technical universities.

According to M.Sc. Nguyễn Hữu Tình, Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology and coach of the IUH team, attributes the success at OLP 2025 to a long-term training strategy with close coordination among the University, lecturers, and students.
Identifying Information Technology as a strategic focus area, IUH has continuously invested in improving curriculum quality, facilities, laboratories, and digital learning resources. At the same time, the University has strengthened advanced academic activities, including the Informatics Olympiad, ICPC, AI Challenge, and PROCON, creating an environment that enables students to develop comprehensively in both professional knowledge and practical skills.
Sharing further insights into the training and coaching process, Dr. Lê Nhật Duy, Head of the Faculty of Information Technology, emphasized the critical role of experienced, dedicated academic staff in accompanying students. He noted that the training process focuses not only on programming and algorithms but also on developing problem-solving thinking, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and a professional, competitive mindset. Talented IUH students are identified and nurtured early through a structured training pathway lasting from one to two years, providing a solid foundation for confidently taking part in major academic competitions.
In the context of rapid development in artificial intelligence, big data, and digital transformation, IUH’s continued investment in the Informatics Olympiad, the AI Olympiad, international ICPC, PROCON, and other advanced academic platforms is not solely aimed at achievements. More importantly, it represents a long-term investment in high-quality Information Technology human resources who are ready to contribute to the future development of science and technology and to Vietnam's digital economy.
