On 16 February, 2019, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly organized the The 2019 Staff Annual Meeting in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province.

Distinguished guests attended the event, to the ministerial officials, were: Mr Tran Quang Huy – Chairman of Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade (NUWIT), Mrs Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai – Deputy Chief of the Southern Office of NUWIT; to business and university partners, were the Sieu Thanh Join Stock Company and some professors from National Ilan University, Taiwan; to IUH, Dr Nguyen Thien Tue – President were with the Board of Directors, University Communist Party,  and over  1,000 university staff.

On behalf of the university’s leaders, President Nguyen Thien Tue stated the 2018 Report on operation and 2019 Statement of mission. In 2018, the organization achieved the objectives of 2018 Resolution of 2018 Staff Annual Meeting with positive outcomes such as: receiving certificate of accreditation at program level under the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance’s (AUN-QA) for 4 academic programs; improving learning facilities and equipment; restructuring the human management towards leaning mechanism; enrollment mission did well with good achievement, meeting the quantity and quality performance indicators; increasing both quantity and quality of institutional research; expending international cooperation with diversity in operations such as study tours, student and staff exchange, cohort seminar, seeking collaborative opportunities; 13 MoU signed with university partners in Taiwan, Korea, Belgium, etc., finance plan reached financial goals, etc., Apart from these achievement, some concerns were still existed that need to be solved in the coming year, for instance, there is a small number of staff still working without enthusiastic attitude, complaining without following regulated procedure that negatively affected university operation and reputation.

At the meeting, Mr Tran Quang Huy – Chairman of Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade delivered his congratulations, recognition and direction speech: IUH has positioned its image as the key institution governed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade throughout its past significant achievements; offering a high quality labor resource. He also gave recommendation to IUH on clearly recognizing challenges as well as corresponding solutions to overcome them in the fiercely competitive national and international education market; the strong development of Industry Revolution 4.0; the trend of strong global integration in all areas and fields. Especially, IUH needs to positions its education quality by attracting more international students, internationally dispatching more teaching staff to teach at overseas universities. He expressed his expectation that the meeting staff would bring democracy into discussion towards the university overall development objectives with straightforwardness and solidarity, being together with leadership of the University Communist party, the Board of Directors, to consolidate the organization and achieve the university’s resolution successfully.

Following Mr Huy’s speech, Mr Pham Thanh Tung, Chairman of IUH Union of Workers - reported opinions gathered from university’s departments on the university’s leadership, development strategy for the coming year, and the 2019 Internal Financial Regulation. In the meeting discussion, many opinions were contributed by meeting participants. They were received and directly responded by Presiden.

In the meeting, there were some presentations about 2019 IUH core issues presented by the university participants. In particularly, Mr Le Dinh Vu – Director of the Student Counseling and Support Center presented his presentation with the theme: “School-Business Linkage – A critical feature to the contemporary higher education”. Mr Pham Thanh Tung, Chairman of IUH Union of Workers - presented his presentation with the theme “Union of Workers was in cooperation with local government to implement the mission of caring life staff, leaders, and workers.  .

Mrs Dam Sao Mai – Director of the Office of Science Management and International Affairs presented his presentation with the theme: “Designing and Developing Scientific Engineering and International Cooperation by 2020, vision to 2025”.

Mr Pham Vinh Phu, Director of Truong Thanh Auto presented his presentation with the theme: “Comprehensive collaboration with IUH in auto manufacturing area”.

By the end of the meeting, on behalf of the Secretary committee, Mr Nguyen Xuan Hong, Director of the Office of Human Resources and Administration got the approval for the Annual Meeting’s Resolution with 100% participants agreed with the contents and objectives of the 2019 Annual Meeting’s Resolution..
