The Students’ Association of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) solemnly organized the 7th Congress of the IUH Vietnamese Students’ Association term 2020-2023 on July 5, 2020, to evaluate and summarize the activities of the Association and the students, and to propose a direction for the new term.
At the Congress, from the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union and the Students’ Association of Ho Chi Minh City, there were Mr. Thi Ngoc Linh (Member of the Standing Committee, Head of Youth schools of the Association, Vice President of the Students’ Association of Ho Chi Minh City) and Mr. Tran Kim Phang (Member of the Secretariat, Chief of the Students’ Association of Ho Chi Minh City). On the guest side, there were the President and Vice President of the Students’ Association of schools in Ho Chi Minh City. From the IUH side, there were Mr. Hoang Do (Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of Student Affairs Department), Mr. Huynh Phu Vinh (Member of Party Committee, Secretary of the Youth Union), lecturers in the school's Party Committee, Heads and Deputy Heads of units, faculties, divisions, departments, centers, faculties, and institutes; together with the former President, Vice President, Secretariat of IUH Students’ Association, and 150 typical members representing more than 33,000 members and students of the IUH.

The 7th Congress of the IUH Students’ Association for the term 2020-2023, had great significance in expressing aspirations, creative thinking, dynamism, and integration capability of IUH students. Besides, the Congress also showed its role in companionship, supporting, gathering, orienting, and promoting IUH students' ability, contributing to the development of the national student activities in general and the Ho Chi Minh City student activities in particular. The Congress took place successfully through two working sessions, leaving good impressions for the Students’ Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the neighbor school units, and gaining a high appreciation from the IUH Party Committee. At the first session, the congress elected the Executive Committee for the new term, which consisted of 21 members, namely:

The Congress also elected a Delegation Board of 12 members who had attended the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2020-2023. Besides, it rewarded groups and individuals with excellent performances in the IUH Student’s Association activities for the term 2018 - 2020.

The Congress set out critical targets for the new term:
- Introduce 2000 part-time jobs suitable for the majors which students are studying, 4000 accommodation rooms for students.
- Generate 250 million VND scholarships to support students.
- Initiate at least 500,000 student volunteers.
- Have at least 150 scientific research projects at the branch level or higher.
- Have at least 150 students rewarding the "Student with 5 merits" at the school level, 10 students at the city level, and 5 students at the central level.
- Encourage at least 8,000 students to volunteer for blood donation.
- Introduce 200 excellent Students’ Association members and 50 new Party members from the Association's main staff at all levels introduced by the Students’ Associtation.
