On the morning of August 22, at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, there were more than 600 representatives attending the International Conference on Advanced Technologies and Sustainable Development 2016 – ICATSD 2016. The conference was organized by the IUH via co-ordination with four other universities: Liège ( Belgium), Tokyo (Japan), Soongsil (Korea) and Kyungwoon (Korea).
Dr. Nguyen Thien Tue – Rector of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City: The university will promote the application and transference of science research results associated with market and social needs in the potential fields of the University.
After a six-month of preparation, the Organization Committee has received 297 science reports from both domestic and foreign authors. Among these reports, there were 75 ones belonging to the authors of 22 universities, 7 research institutes in 15 countries in the world. After two independent counter-arguments, the Organization Committee has selected 187 reports that were the best qualified to be promulgated at this conference.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thien Tue – Rector of the IUH – emphasized that ICATSD2016 was an occasion for professors, scientists, foreign and domestic intellectual peole to meet, exchange and announce the update research results in information technology field, promote exchanges and cooperation in researches. In the time to come, the IUH will promote the application and transference of science research results associated with market and social needs in the potential fields of the University; take part in the tasks of science and technology and in the services of science and technology; actively find and get funds for research projects in both domestic and foreign fields of science and technology.

At the conference, the scientists announced the newest research results in different fields of science, engineering, technology and economic sciences. The conference is divided into four subcommittees discussing four groups of matters in such different fields as: green technology (including environment, biology, food and chemistry); applied energy and advanced manufacturing technology ( involving manufacturing technology, automation, automobile mechanics, recycled energy and science); applied and smart system ( including computer science, information technology, data base, Internet security, mobile network and applications, biomedical engineering); sustainable economic Development and TPP Integration (including the fields of economic sciences such as: accounting – auditing , finance – banking, commerce – tourism).

According to Prof. Dr. Banh Tien Long, Chairman of the Council of Editors of Asian Research Work and Chairman of the Council of Editors of Vietnam Research Work, ICATSD2016 is a grand international conference and has great meaning in the training of human resources and development of science and technology. He highly appreciated the quality of scientific reports in this Conference.
“In science and technology activities, the related units should attach the goals and tasks of science and technology to the goals and tasks of developing the social economy of each industry and locality. I also hope and request that professors and international scientists continue supporting Vietnam in training human resources for science and connecting with the community of science in the world” - Mrs. Nguyen Thi Van Nga, Deputy Director General of the Department of Human Resources Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade), emphasized at the Conference.
