From June 30 to July 2, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) hosted an external assessment under the AUN-QA framework for the second assessment cycle of three undergraduate programs: Computer Engineering Technology, E-commerce, and Garment and Textile Technology. This marked the 483rd program assessment conducted by the AUN-QA network.
The AUN-QA experts also conducted site visits to the faculties responsible for the three academic programs.
Accordingly, the programs have reviewed and updated their expected learning outcomes, introduced innovations in teaching and assessment methods, strengthened collaboration with industry partners, enhanced student support services, and continued improving the University's internal quality assurance system.
Prof. Dr. Huynh Trung Hieu stated that the University regards external assessment not only as a quality assurance exercise but also as an opportunity for objective self-reflection and continuous improvement. The recommendations provided by the AUN-QA expert panel will serve as an important foundation for further enhancing academic programs to better meet the expectations of students and employers.
At the closing session, the AUN-QA assessment team acknowledged numerous strengths demonstrated by the three academic programs while offering recommendations to further improve quality and move closer to international standards in the next stage of development.
To date, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City has 46 academic programs accredited under both national and international quality assurance frameworks. In 2023, the University successfully achieved its second-cycle institutional accreditation under the regulations of Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training. In 2025, IUH was awarded institutional accreditation under the AUN-QA framework, and in 2026, it further achieved accreditation under the United Kingdom's Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) standards. The University is also ranked 355th in Asia in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, placed in the 1401+ band of the QS World University Rankings 2027, and ranked in the 801–1000 band globally in the THE Impact Rankings 2026, further reinforcing its position within the regional and international higher education landscape.
