On September 30, 2019, IUH’s leaders had a meeting with some representatives from The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Both parties agreed to sign an academic cooperation agreement on October 2, 2019 at Caravelle hotel in Ho Chi Minh city.

The participants at the signing ceremony included, to ICAE, Mr Mark Billington - ICAEW Regional Director, Greater China & South East Asia, Mrs Dang Thi Mai Trang – ICAEW Chief Representative in Vietnam, Mrs Le Bich Tram - ICAEW Marketing Manager in Vietnam; to IUH side, Dr Le Van Tan – Vice President, Dr Dam Sao Mai – Director of Office of Science Management and International Affairs, Dr Nguyen Thi Thu Hien – Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing together with other representative leaders from Ho Chi Minh City Open University and the International University, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

ICAEW is a professional international organization formed in 1880 and considered as the number one in accounting and finance career in the world, with the purpose of promoting, developing, and supporting over 142.000 accountants across the world. Officially operated in Vietnam since 2015, ICAEW has continuously paid a great effort on its commitment for its contributing to the development of the accounting and finance career in the country, via promoting training world-level quality manpower and enhancing capability for senior manpower in accounting and finance, also closely incorporating with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and Training, the State Audit Office of Vietnam, the State Security Commission of Vietnam and national professional associations.
According to the Agreement, some modules of ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB) will be incorporated into the IUH Accounting and Auditing Faculty syllabus. All programs are delivered in English and students will sit in exam after completing these modules. This incorporating program brings a good opportunity for students of the Accounting and Auditing Faculty in term of enabling of having both Bachelor’s degrees of Accounting and ICAEW CFAB international professional certificates. In addition, this agreement also creates a chance for both IUH teaching staff and students to approach ICAEW teaching and studying materials across the world.
The agreement signing significantly marks ICAEW continuous efforts in enhancing cooperation with Vietnamese universities with the aim of development of accounting and finance human resource complying with international standards; also, consolidating teaching quality of the Accounting and Auditing Faculty in recent years and near future. The Faculty also completed the AUN-QA quality assurance assessment at program level in August.

In January 2019, ICAEW signed another cooperation agreement the Ministry of Education and Trade on developing training of Accounting and Finance. This agreement aims to promote the designing learning outcomes for the Bachelor program of Accounting and Finance; connecting universities with enterprises; also, being incorporation with Vietnamese universities in term of development of accounting and finance human resource.
