The Faculty of Health Sciences at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) has strengthened its collaboration with three leading institutions in Vietnam's health sciences sector, creating new opportunities for education, research, and the development of high-quality human resources.

From July 2 to 3, a delegation led by Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Thang, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, visited Hanoi University of Pharmacy, National Institute of Nutrition, and the College of Health Sciences, VinUniversity. The work visit not only expanded the Faculty's network of strategic partners but also advanced its vision of integrating education with research and innovation.
 

 

At Hanoi University of Pharmacy, the IUH delegation met with the University's leadership to discuss institutional development strategies, academic programs, scientific research, and international collaboration. Representatives of the IUH Faculty of Health Sciences introduced the faculty’s development, its current programs in Pharmacy and Nutrition & Food Science, and its plans to launch new programs in Nursing and Beauty Care.

The discussions identified a wide range of potential collaborative initiatives, including curriculum development, postgraduate education, faculty and researcher exchanges, the establishment of strong research groups, international publications, and joint research in medicinal plants, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, functional foods, and nutrition. The delegation also toured laboratories and research centers to learn about Hanoi University of Pharmacy's research-oriented education model.

The delegation then visited the National Institute of Nutrition, where discussions focused on developing the Nutrition curriculum, conducting joint research projects, increasing international publications, and creating opportunities for IUH students to undertake internships and research at the Institute. The delegation also toured the Institute's laboratories and specialized research facilities to gain a deeper understanding of its research capabilities.

Building on the complementary strengths of both institutions, the two sides explored collaboration in nutrition education, research on functional foods, food microbiology, molecular biology, and initiatives to expand international research publications while providing IUH students with greater opportunities for practical training and research.

As part of the working program, the delegation also met with the College of Health Sciences at VinUniversity. Discussions centered on emerging trends in health sciences education in the era of digital transformation and opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence for healthcare, digital health, medical devices, clinical engineering, biomedical sciences, rehabilitation, and nursing education.

Through its engagements with these three leading institutions, the IUH Faculty of Health Sciences has further expanded its collaborative network while strengthening connections in education, research, and technology transfer. These partnerships will provide a solid foundation for enhancing academic quality, developing interdisciplinary research groups, expanding learning and research opportunities for faculty members and students, and advancing the faculty’s integration into the global health sciences community.
