On the afternoon of January 7, 2026, at the Hachioji Campus of Tokyo University of Technology (TUT), Japan, the Vietnam–Japan Scientific and Cultural Exchange Program between Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) and TUT was officially inaugurated. The opening marked the start of a series of academic and cultural exchange activities from January 7 to January 10, 2026.

The IUH delegation in Tokyo, JapanMany distinguished leaders and professors from TUT attended, including Prof. Dr. Takashi Yamashita, Vice President; Prof. Dr. Hara Kenji, Chair of the International Committee; and Prof. Dr. Kurokawa Hiroaki, Chair of the International Student Council. The event welcomed Mr. Noboru Tobe, Chairman of Tobe Shoji Corporation, and Ms. Kiyoko Inagi, President of NPO Mainenomori, along with TUT faculty and students.
Representing the delegation from the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trịnh Ngọc Nam, Head of the Office of Scientific Management and International Cooperation, together with IUH lecturers and students participating in exchange activities, exhibitions, and academic–cultural performances.
On opening day, the program introduced an exhibition and booths in two main areas. The academic space hosted research booths in fields like Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, and Food Technology. The cultural space offered coffee, agricultural products, costumes, handicrafts, and creative areas rich in Vietnamese culture.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Takashi Yamashita affirmed that the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City plays an important role in the cooperative relationship between the two universities. He also expressed his expectation for more practical and effective collaborative activities in the future, particularly in scientific research, academic exchange, and student mobility.
