The “Green-Edu-Seeds” Project, under the framework of the EU’s Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program, aims to develop training programs that promote the transition toward a green and sustainable economy and society. The Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) is honored to host the implementation conference of this significant international project.
From September 29 to October 3, 2025, IUH welcomed delegates from partner universities and organizations in Austria, Germany, Italy, Australia, Thailand, and Vietnam to attend the Kick-off Conference of the Erasmus+ Project “GREEN EDU-SEEDS.”

Dr. Phan Hồng Hải – President of IUH, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trịnh Ngọc Nam, Head of the Office of Science Management and International Affairs, warmly welcomed international partners and representatives from various institutions
Strengthening Cooperation for Green and Sustainable Education
The conference focused on reviewing the progress of work packages (WPs), finalizing implementation plans for key project activities, and promoting collaboration among consortium members toward the shared goal of enhancing green competencies and sustainable development capacity in higher education.
The “GREEN EDU-SEEDS” Project aims to develop green skills in Vietnam and Thailand through the introduction of strategic educational models and “seed initiatives” for academia and industry — particularly targeting sectors that can generate positive social and environmental impacts.
During the five working days, delegates engaged in in-depth discussions and reached consensus on essential components within the main work packages:
- WP01 – Project Management: Graz University & SUMO GmbH;
- WP03 – Academic Training on Green Business Skills: Graz University;
- WP04 – Practical Training on Green Business Skills: INNMA Company;
- WP05 – WP05 – Digital Teaching Methods: priME Company & SUMO GmbH;
- WP06 – “I AM GREEN” Network Development: Cassiopeia Company;
- WP07 – Quality Assurance and Certification: SUMO GmbH;
- WP08 – Project Communication and Impact: Ho Chi Minh City Open University.
Additionally, the Project Management Board and Quality Assurance Board meetings were held to evaluate outcomes, review the quality of implementation, and outline strategies to enhance dissemination and long-term sustainability in the upcoming phases.
As part of the program, delegates participated in a field trip to the Mekong Delta, which included activities in Can Tho City and at the MYLAN Group. The visit provided opportunities to explore green production models, environmental management practices, and sustainability initiatives within Vietnamese enterprises, helping international partners gain a deeper insight into the local context, challenges, and potential for collaboration in green education.
The conference concluded with a consensus on the implementation roadmap for the next phase and the plan to organize the next annual project meeting. All partners reaffirmed their commitment to integrating green and sustainable development competencies into university curricula, while expanding the international cooperation network in this vital field.
Before this conference, in March 2025, IUH representatives participated in the official launch of the GREEN EDU-SEEDS Project at Graz University (Austria). Over the next three years, the project will develop 45 courses, with the first sessions scheduled to begin in 2025, offered both online and on-site at four participating universities in Vietnam and Thailand. These programs are designed for students, start-up enterprises, and policymakers, contributing to the green transition in education and the regional economy.
