Training on personal asset and income declaration 10-05-2023
Under the direction of Comrade Secretary of the Personnel Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, on the morning of 09/5/2023, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City organized a training conference with the topic "Some guidelines on asset and income declaration" to implement asset control, income and raising awareness of the importance of asset and income declaration in units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The conference was attended by representatives from the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including Dr. Le Viet Long, the Chief Inspector, along with other inspectors. IUH sent Dr. Phan Hong Hai, the Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector, was present, along with colleagues from the Party Committee, Rector Board, and officials required to declare their assets and income. The conference was also conducted online, extending to the Thanh Hoa and Quang Ngai campuses.

Sharing at the conference, Dr. Phan Hong Hai – the rector discussed the rationale for this event. He expressed: "The purpose of declaring assets and income is to provide competent agencies with information about the assets and income of individuals obligated to declare. This promotes transparency and aids in the management of officials and civil servants, ultimately contributing to the prevention of corruption. It is important to raise awareness and emphasize the roles and responsibilities of staff and civil servants in fulfilling their declaration obligations. The declaration should be seen not just as a responsibility but also as a right that empowers individuals to ensure transparency and accountability.". Therefore, he also hoped that the Rapporteur would clarify current legal provisions to help remove obstacles in the application of regulations on asset declaration, income and control and verification of assets and income.

At the training conference, Dr. Le Viet Long disseminated the fundamental contents of the Law on Anti-Corruption in 2018; Decree No. 130/2020/ND-CP dated October 30, 2020, of the Government on control of authorities’ personnel’s assets and income in agencies, organizations and units. Delegates were specifically instructed on cases of initial declaration, supplementary declaration, and annual declaration, how to make declaration according to the prescribed form. Dr. Le Viet Long also emphasized: "Along with the strict implementation of regulations on asset and income declaration; The inspection and verification of asset and income declaration will also be promoted. Therefore, it is necessary to organize training in Industry and Trade on professional declaration and inspection and verification of assets and income in accordance with the provisions of law, demonstrating the seriousness in implementing the provisions of the law on anti-corruption."

After the training, staff and civil servants of the unit were more properly aware of the declaration of assets and incomes and simultaneously, recognized and overcame their shortcomings in the declaration procedure in the coming time.
