IUH students present technology projects before the Communist Party of Viet Nam at the Party Congress of Ho Chi Minh City 14-10-2025
At the technology exhibition space held in celebration of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (2025–2030 tenure), students from the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) were honored to introduce and present an intelligent robot project directly to General Secretary Tô Lâm.
General Secretary Tô Lâm, together with current and former leaders of the Party and the State, visited the strategic technology exhibition area at the Congress. The event was not only a source of great pride for IUH but also a testament to the creativity, confidence, and technological capability of IUH students in the digital era.
On the morning of October 14, the official opening session of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (2025–2030) took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy.
This was the first Congress since the merger of Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, marking a new stage of development for the Southeast region.
Within the framework of the event, IUH students were selected to present outstanding technological products at the exhibition area, which showed innovative models and creative solutions representing the young intellect of the city. The IUH student team included Trần Duy Khánh (DHDKTD17DTT) and Phạm Nguyễn Hoàng Duy (DHDKTD17ATT) from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology, both currently interning at ABB Vietnam. The company entrusted them to present and operate the ABB Yumi robot, a flagship product in the field of collaborative robotics.

Sharing their exceptional experience, Khánh and Duy said: “When we received instructions from ABB Robotics Vietnam to bring the ABB Yumi robot to the Congress for a demonstration of the traditional Vietnamese coffee brewing process, we were both nervous and proud, knowing this was a national-level event. With over a year of experience in robotics research, we confidently operated and programmed Yumi to simulate the entire coffee brewing process like a human. Yumi is an intelligent collaborative robot widely applied in high-precision industrial processes, especially within sterile environments in the medical field.”
Khánh and Duy began their internship on October 1, under the guidance of Dr. Hoàng Đình Khôi, conducting research and practice at the Robot and Intelligent Control Systems Lab (X5.04).
There, they participated in various projects, including the Vietnam Map Drawing Robot and the Automatic Coffee-Making Robot, utilizing ABB Gofa robots.
Building upon their academic foundation and practical experience, both confidently applied for the position of Proposal Engineer at ABB Robotics Vietnam, demonstrating the competence and maturity of IUH students in an international working environment.
“If given the opportunity, IUH students should confidently engage in research, learning, and robotics development. The Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City has invested in a state-of-the-art laboratory at X5.04, offering countless opportunities to nurture passion, discovery, and innovation in the field of industrial automation,” Khánh shared.
