The Opening Ceremony of the 154th AUN-QA Quality Assessment at Programme Level 06-08-2019

Following the success of the 116th AUN-QA quality assessment at programme level in June 2018, on Tuesday morning of 6 August 2019, in the Meeting Hall E4, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) ceremoniously hosted the opening ceremony of the 154th AUN-QA quality assessment at programme level.

To the delegation of AUN- QA, Prof. Ir. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah, Acting Deputy Chairperson of AUN – QA Council, the team leader was together with assessors and secretariats from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand.

To IUH side, IUH President – Dr. Nguyen Thien Tue, Vice President – Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Van Tan, together with leaders of academic faculties whose academic programmes assessed this time, managers of the university’s units and lecturers attended the ceremony.

The 4 new academic programmes have quality assessment this time include Automotive Engineering Technology, Bachelor in English language, Business Administration, and Accounting.

On behalf of IUH, Dr. Nguyen Thien Tue expressed his appreciation to AUN – QA Council for continuous supports given IUH throughout the assessment process. IUH is always ready for receiving advices and suggestions from the assessors towards the gradually enhancing quality improvement. The assessment results this time are also considered as a KPI making those programmes better by reviewing their recent development to find out what advantages and disadvantages were for further improvement in future. It also makes IUH be ready for the AUN-QA quality assessment at institutional level in 2020.

In his remarking speech, Prof. Ir. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah showed his high recognition to the preparation by IUH and its faculties concerned in this quality assessment. There were many positive changes made since the 116th AUN-QA quality assessment in 2018. Professor Abdullah also expressed his anticipation to the success of the 4 academic programmes assessed this time.

In the ceremony, Dr Nguyen Huy Phuc – Director of the Office of Testing and Quality Assurance presented his report of assessment preparation as well as overview introduction of IUH and the faculties having academic programmes assessed this time.

After the end of ceremony, the assessors moved to interview sections of individual faculty. This quality assessment will last from 6 to 8 Aug, 2019. We are looking forwards to the good news from the assessors after the completion of assessment.
