The grand opening ceremony of Ly Son district library 17-05-2020
Ly Son island district library is one of the national libraries that has been invested, built, and put into use since 2000. For nearly 20 years, the library has served tens of thousands of readers. However, due to severe weather conditions, it has deteriorated rapidly. Aware of the difficulties of its facilities, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City University sponsored the Ly Son island district to build its library.
The grand opening of Ly Son district library on May 16, 2020
After 8 months of building, from September 2019 to May 2020, the construction items have been completed;lơ- and officially put into use. On May 16, 2020, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City University, in collaboration with the People's Committee of Ly Son District, solemnly held the grand opening ceremony of the Ly Son district library.
In the opening ceremony, there were Mr. Dang Ngoc Dung - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai People's Committee, Mr. Le Van Duong - Director of the Provincial Rural Development Department, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thuy - Head of the Department of Education and Literature of the province. Representatives of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City University were Mr. Phan Hong Hai - Rector of the university, Mr. Nguyen Thien Tue - Former Rector of the university, Mr. Pham Thanh Tung - President of the Union, and Mr. Huynh Phu Vinh - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City University.
The Ly Son district library was put into use to serve the needs of the locals and visitors
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Hong Hai hoped that the library would be a place to help people on the island have a chance to learn about the history and culture of the Ly Son island district, Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes (Spratlys and Paracel Islands) as well as the national history. This will also be a safe entertainment place for local children in the island district since the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City University will carry out the construction of a homemade children's play area at the library shortly.

The university repaired, built and upgraded the main building; built children's play area; installed the air conditioning system and computer room; upgraded reading rooms with more than 1,000 historical, cultural, and children books; installed the Internet system and photocopiers. The library serves the locals and tourists' needs of information and learning about the historical culture.
