The Final Round of the 3rd Innovation Startup Contest - For Green Life at IUH 17-06-2024

More than 60 projects participated in the qualifying round, from which 20 teams were selected for the semi-finals. Ultimately, the 10 best teams competed to determine the champion of the 3rd Innogreen Life Startup Innovation Contest in 2023.

On the morning of June 15, 2024, the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Transfer (CIETT-IUH) at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City successfully organized the third Innogreen Life Contest – Innovation for a Green Life. The contest began in August 2023, culminating in the final held on June 15, 2024.

After an exciting semi-final round, the Organizing Committee selected 10 teams with the best projects to compete in the final round of the Innovation Startup Contest, For Green Life, to determine the champion and other prize winners.

Prof. Dr. Dam Sao Mai, Vice Rector of the university and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated: "Through three iterations, the contest has attracted hundreds of startup projects from students both within and outside the university. This year, I especially appreciate the ideas and projects that have presented practical products and solutions to promote green living and sustain a healthy environment for all of us."

Speaking at the opening of the final round of the contest, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Trung Thanh, Director of CIETT, emphasized: "The Green Life Startup Contest is not only an opportunity to showcase students' creativity and leadership but also an important step in promoting sustainable business models and moving towards a greener future for the community."

Currently, the innovation startup ecosystem includes businesses, universities, and research institutes that are pioneering the creation of new solutions and products to serve society, improve production and business efficiency, and increase competitiveness. Therefore, the Jury of the Final Round of the contest comprises experienced entrepreneurs, incubator representatives, and mentors in the field of innovation.

Several notable projects in the contest included: Production and trading of nanomaterials from durian shells (Faculty of Chemical Technology), Hot food delivery containers using waste heat from transport vehicles (Faculty of Heat-Refrigeration Technology), AMV autonomous ship project for automatic water quality monitoring in polluted fishing grounds (Faculty of Mechanical Technology), The Irecom system that recommends courses and jobs based on candidates' capacities and needs (Faculty of Information Technology)

The Innogreen Life Contest is not only an annual activity but also an opportunity to select excellent startup projects with the potential for technology transfer and development into startup businesses. Every year, IUH allocates a significant budget to sponsor student startup projects, amounting to up to 2 billion VND.

The Innogreen Life Innovation Contest aims to promote the development of innovative ideas, projects, and products that create valuable contributions to life and enhance the image of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. It seeks to contribute to society through the innovation and startup activities of the university's students and lecturers. The contest helps discover and incubate creative and useful ideas and products for socio-economic development.

According to the announcement from the Organizing Committee, the Top 10 projects of the contest will be honored at the Innogreen Life Season 3 Closing Ceremony and the launch of Innogreen Life Season 4, scheduled to take place in September 2024.
