Students of the Faculty of Electrical Technology won two second prizes in the MECA competition 2021 – 2022 25-05-2022
Surpassing 16 excellent teams in the final round, the two teams competing in the Faculty of Electrical Technology- Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City became the runner-up of the MECA 2021 - 2022 contest organized by Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
Starting from February 2021, MECA 2021 - 2022 completed the preliminary round at school level with more than 160 submissions on the idea of industrial automation innovation, 17 teams reached the final round, from 6 universities including: Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Tra Vinh University.

The theme of MECA 2021 - 2022 is "Smart Automated Factory Solution", Beatrix and Phoenix teams representing Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City have surpassed the remaining 15 teams to win the second prize with the topics "Automatic packaging machine" and "Smart warehouse model combining Mitsubishi PLC controller and computer vision technology", second only to the CT_SPKT team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

According to Dr. Trần Thanh Ngọc, Head of The Faculty of Electrical Technology, said: "The Faculty of Electrical Technology highly appreciates the MECA competition as well as the creative ideas of the students. Both teams participating in the final won the second prizes, which is a proud achievement of the Faculty of Electrical Technology in general and the students in particular. Participating in specialized competitions can help students gain more experience as well as practicalize their ideas, so that they can improve themself and they can have an advantage when looking for a job after graduation."

The Phoenix team competed with the "Smart Warehouse Model combining Mitsubishi PLC controllers and computer vision technology" conducted by students: Tran Dang Khoa, Truong Nguyen Phuong Thao, Nguyen Hoang Phuc, Ha Dinh Hung and Nguyen Minh Tien. The smart warehouse uses shelve frames capable of upgrading, self-operating and renovating capacity easily and the activities will be carried out automatically under the instruction of lecturers Vo Trung Thu and Bui Thi Cam Quynh. Beatrix team participated with "Automatic Packaging Machine" conducted by students: Pham Huynh Duc, Bui Minh Nam, Dang Hiep Hung, Nguyen Anh Khoi and Dinh Manh Nhan. Beatrix's product aims to improve productivity in bran factories, for packaging from 25kg to 50kg guided by lecturers Le Long Ho and Hoang Thi Tu Uyen.
