Panasonic Vietnam Sponsors HVAC Solution Center for Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Laboratory 08-05-2025
On May 8, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) officially inaugurated the HVAC Solution Center, a state-of-the-art facility sponsored by Panasonic Vietnam. The event, held at room V6.01, also marked the launch of a new specialized Laboratory in Thermal Refrigeration Technology. The initiative represents a key milestone in the university’s growing partnership with the enterprise, aimed at advancing education quality and boosting applied research in thermal engineering and refrigeration
Handover Ceremony of the HVAC Solution Center at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City
The HVAC Solution Center, comprehensively invested in by Panasonic, is equipped with a full range of modern technologies—from residential and commercial air conditioning systems to the next-generation VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) central air conditioning system, which stands out for its high operational efficiency, energy savings, and smart, flexible control tailored to different types of buildings. Notably, the nanoe™ X active air purification technology can inhibit bacteria, viruses, mold, and allergens, ensuring a safe and healthy learning and working environment.
The handover and inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives from Panasonic Vietnam, including: Mr. Nguyễn Lý Tưởng – Senior Manager, Project Department, Panasonic Air-Conditioning Vietnam; Mr. Hisatomi Yoshiyuki – Senior Manager, Sales & Marketing Department, Air Conditioning Division, along with company engineers and department heads and deputies.
Representing IUH were: Dr. Phan Hồng Hải – President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đàm Sao Mai – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trịnh Ngọc Nam – Head of the Office of Science Management and International Affairs; Dr. Nguyễn Thị Tâm Thanh – Dean of the Faculty of Heat – Refrigeration Engineering; alongside university department leaders, faculty members, students, and representatives of the Scientific Research Club.
In his speech at the event, “Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đàm Sao Mai” emphasized: “We truly appreciate Panasonic Air-Conditioning Vietnam’s trust in sponsoring the HVAC Solution Center for training purposes. This is a practical contribution that enhances the technical capabilities of students in engineering and technology, especially in the field of thermal refrigeration. Today’s partnership signing marks an important milestone, opening the door to a more comprehensive collaboration between the university and the enterprise, spanning education, recruitment, research, and technology transfer.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đàm Sao Mai – Vice President of the university – delivering a speech at the ceremony
Also at the event, Mr. Nguyễn Lý Tưởng shared: “The integration of the HVAC Solution Center into teaching marks a breakthrough in educational infrastructure investment. Beyond serving as a learning facility, the laboratory also acts as a source of inspiration for research and entrepreneurship, contributing to the realization of the university–enterprise linkage model that IUH is actively pursuing.”
The sponsorship package from Panasonic Air-Conditioning Vietnam includes: advanced air conditioning systems; ventilation and air purification solutions; and a comprehensive indoor air quality monitoring system. All of these are integrated to effectively support training and scientific research at the university. Direct exposure to cutting-edge technologies allows students to enhance their practical skills and expand their future career opportunities.
Mr. Nguyễn Lý Tưởng and Dr. Phan Hồng Hải jointly signed and presented the symbolic handover plaque.
Following the handover ceremony, representatives from both sides visited and inaugurated the new laboratory in Building V, which is expected to serve as a model facility for advanced HVAC training. In the context of the HVAC industry undergoing significant transformation to meet evolving technological and climate standards, hands-on access to real equipment—rather than simulations—will empower students to develop system thinking, analytical skills, and familiarity with operational data, all of which are essential competencies for the next generation of engineers.
