Opportunities for training and employment cooperation following IUH rector's visit to Japan 22-12-2024

As part of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's business trip to Japan from December 19 to December 21, 2024, Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, participated in working sessions with key Japanese partners under the leadership of Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang.

Leveraging strengths to expand training cooperation

At the Asia-Africa Regional Trade Counsellors Conference 2024, organized by the Asia-Africa Market Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on December 19, trade counsellors highlighted the need to enhance human resource training, including professional development and promotional exams for trade officials.

In response, Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Rector of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), introduced the university's strengths in training. He emphasized: “IUH’s programs in international business, e-commerce, logistics and supply chain management, economic law, and international law are highly relevant for preparing trade personnel. Dr. Hai affirmed the university’s readiness to serve as a key training hub for Vietnamese Trade Agencies operating in the Asia-Africa market and beyond.”

Proposal for collaboration with Japanese partners in nuclear power human resource development and training

At the meeting on nuclear power development cooperation with Japanese businesses and universities, chaired by Minister Nguyen Hong Dien on December 21, Dr. Phan Hong Hai engaged with representatives from Fukui University and Nagaoka University of Technology—two leading institutions in nuclear power engineering training in Japan. Dr. Hai shared insights about the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and extended an invitation to the Rectors of both universities to visit IUH. The invitation aims to foster collaboration in developing training programs and research initiatives in the nuclear power sector.

From December 18 to 22, 2024, a delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, led by Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, will visit and conduct official meetings in Japan. During the trip, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien will attend and co-chair the 7th Meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Committee on Industrial Cooperation, Trade, and Energy, as well as chair the Asia-Africa Regional Trade Counsellors Conference, among other key engagements.
