Opening of the 353rd AUN-QA evaluation at IUH 30-10-2023

On the morning of 30/10/2023, at Hall E4, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the opening ceremony of the 353rd program quality assessment of AUN - QA for 4 training programs: Environmental Engineering Technology; Chemical Engineering Technology; Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology; Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology. This is the 2nd cycle assessment of these 4 training programs.

On the side of AUN – QA, the University was honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah –Kebangsaan University of Malaysia – Head of the Evaluation Team, Assoc. Prof. Rosula Reyes – Ateneo de Manila University – Philippines (Environmental Engineering Technology assessor); Assoc. Dr. Tan Kay Chuan – National University of Singapore, Assoc. Prof. Amphawan Julsereewong – King Mongkut Ladkrabang Institute of Technology – Thailand (Chemical Engineering Technology Auditor); Prof. Dr. Arnulfo P. Azcarraga – De La Salle University – Philippines, PhD. Tan Chin Hon – National University of Singapore (Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology Assessor); Assoc. Prof. Kamolwan Lueprasert – King Mongut University North Bangkok – Thailand; Prof. Marlene M. De Leon – Ateneo de Manila University – Philippines (Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Auditor); The members of the Secretariat include Ms. Ing - orn - Jeerararuensak - Assessor of AUN, Ms. Nuruljannah Chetue-ngoh (Nurul) - Assessor of AUN, Mr. Sittikorn Sukkaew (Ball) - Assessor of AUN, Ms. Soranee Chuyingsakultip - Assessor of AUN and 38 observers from universities in Southeast Asia (Thailand,  Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam).

Welcoming and working with the delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Trung Hieu – Vice Rector in charge of the university, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hong – Vice Rector, leaders of training units under assessment including the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Institute of Science Technology and Environmental Management, Faculty of Electrical Technology, Faculty of Electronic Technology, together with heads of units under the university and lecturers.

University leaders and faculties participating in the inspection took photos with the evaluation team and observers.

In cycle 2 of AUN's 353rd assessment the training programmes assessed are Environmental Engineering Technology; Chemical Engineering Technology; Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology; Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology.

In August 2018, during the 116th assessment of the AUN organization, all four initial programs evaluated were found to meet international quality standards in accordance with AUN-QA standards. IUH distinguished itself as the first university under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to attain such standards. Notably, it was the sole university at that juncture where every participating training program in the accreditation process not only met but exceeded the established standards, earning high praise from the delegation.

Representing the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Trung Hieu conveyed heartfelt appreciation to AUN-QA for its support throughout the evaluation process. "Since our initial assessment in 2018, we've implemented a targeted quality assurance strategy encompassing both curriculum and institutional aspects. The genuine feedback from the assessors has proven instrumental in enhancing our programs, contributing to numerous successes in accreditation and the ranking of educational institutions. The university is equally honored to host observers during this assessment."

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah commended the meticulous preparation undertaken by the university and the units being assessed on this occasion. He noted, "During my visit to IUH, I witnessed the thorough preparation led by the university's leadership, supported by functional departments and training units. In the initial cycle assessment in 2018, all four programs met the quality standards set by AUN-QA. I express my hope that the four training programs—Environmental Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, and Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology—attain commendable results in this assessment."

Hopefully, with careful preparation, the accredited programs will receive positive results from the evaluation team.
