Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2022-2023. The Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyễn Hồng Diên attended the event.
In the afternoon of 19/10, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2022-2023. The school administration, staff, lecturers, staff and more than 9,300 new students were honored to welcome Comrade Nguyễn Hồng Diên, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyễn Hồng Diên to attend and speak at the opening ceremony.

In the academic year 2022 – 2023, the school has more than 9,000 new students enrolled, reaching 100% of the target compared to the set plan, with threshold scores ranging from 18.5 to 26, the quality of entrance is maintained stably and improved over each academic year.
Dr. Phan Hồng Hải – the Rector of IUH – said: In the academic year 2021-2022, when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out with unpredictable developments, caused significant impacts on the life in general and training activities of the University in particular. However, with the spirit of "changing to adapt", teachers and students have actively created, applied positive teaching methods to maintain the quality of training, accomplished many outstanding achievements.

Accordingly, the school's enrollment reached 101.42% of the target compared to the plan, the quality of input remained high. In particular, the percentage of students with jobs after graduation reaches over 90%.
Notably, the ranking, evaluation and accreditation have accomplished many remarkable achievements: The school continues to be ranked by QS Education (Quacquarelli Symonds - UK) as the 601+ best universities in Asia in 2021 and ranked 11th among the best universities in Vietnam. This organization also rated the school as meeting the QS Stars 4-Star - 4 Stars quality standard with a score of 684/500. In particular, standards such as Teaching, Facilities, Employability, Academic Development, Inclusiveness are all excellent, reaching 5 stars.

Currently, the University has 12 training programs accredited by the Quality Assurance Organization of the Southeast Asian Universities Network (AUN-QA) and all 12 programs are highly appreciated in the preparation as well as in the implementation of the quality assurance system;
In January 2022, the University completed an external assessment of 8 training programs, including: Auditing Accounting, Analytical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Food Technology and 3 university-level training programs, including: Civil Engineering, Economic Law, Natural Resources and Environment Management. By 8/2022, the University has received a letter from ABET about the programs that have met the standards, including: Mechanical Engineering Technology, Machine Building Technology, Biotechnology and Food Technology.

In the opening ceremony of the new academic year, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City will award 9 scholarships to new valedictorians of all disciplines and 25 scholarships to typical students. The total amount of scholarships awarded to students up to 100 million VND is deducted from the university’s annual 60-billion-VND Student Scholarship Fund.
The academic year 2022-2023 is a key academic year in the 5-year period of implementing the plans and strategies that the University has set out along with the goal of becoming a leading university in Vietnam, pioneering in the fields of education, applied research, technology transfer and innovation.
To continue that mission, Dr. Phan Hồng Hải - said: The school focuses on performing key tasks: Continuing to strengthen the organizational structure, fostering and improving the level of managers and lecturers, attracting highly qualified lecturers to work at the school. At the same time, strengthen the management of training, promote the evaluation and accreditation of training programs according to regional and international standards. Promote application-oriented scientific research activities, closely following practical needs.
Along with that, the school planned to implement the school's internationalization resolution; continue to promote the process of digitization and application of information technology in management. As well as maintaining and promoting activities, care services, student support, affiliation, corporate cooperation, networking and community service.
