IUH students "stand out" at the 2023 Asian International Olympiad in Informatics and Programmers 15-12-2023

The Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) achieved remarkable success, securing numerous top prizes at the 32nd Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad and ICPC Asia International Student Programming Contest 2023.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Vietnam Informatics Association, the Vietnam Student Union, and hosted by the University of Science - Hue University in Thua Thien Hue province, the contest took place from December 5 to 8, 2023.

With the participation of 78 universities, colleges, and institutes nationwide, the 32nd Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad saw nearly 600 students taking part, including 67 students in the Super Cup, 194 in Informatics, 92 in Non-Informatics and College, 45 in Open-Source Software, and 38 in Procon Vietnam. IUH's computer Olympiad team achieved outstanding success as all six participating students were awarded high prizes.

In Group C – Specialist Section:

- Students Tran Loc and Lam Quang Phu - won the second prize.

- Student Phan Chi Trung - won the Consolation Prize.

In Group B – Non-Specialist Block:

- Student Trinh Nguyen Hoang Vu - won the championship

- Student Doan Vu Thien Ban - won the first prize

- Student Trinh Duong Hoan - won the second prize.

This outstanding outcome led the IUH team to secure the first prize in Group B, marking the pinnacle of their achievements in the Vietnamese student computer Olympiad movement over the past 13 years.

In the ICPC Asia Exam 2023, a total of 125 teams participated, comprising 105 Vietnamese teams with 375 students. Notably, the exam also featured the presence of 60 international students from 10 universities in Singapore, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan (China).

IUH's ICPC team clinched two prizes in the Team competition, with each team consisting of three students:

Team IUH. PLT-Legend: Including students Lam Quang Phu, Tran Loc and Truong Duc Tai - won the Encouragement Award for Information Division.

Team IUH. CoBan: Including students Pham The Manh, Doan Vu Thien Ban and Trinh Nguyen Hoang Vu - won the Third Prize in Amateur Division.

With these notable accomplishments, IUH solidifies its position among the top-tier educational institutions on the OLP/ICPC Vietnam map. The outstanding IUH students garnered prestigious awards in both the 32nd Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad and the ICPC Asia International Student Programming Competition 2023.
