IUH students participate in internships in Taiwan 13-04-2023

From February 16, 2023 to March 16, 2023, the Faculty of Electrical Technology (IUH) collaborated with Prof. Cheng-Hu Chen, Director of APEC and National Ilan University (Taiwan) to bring 3 students Nguyen Nhat Hoang Anh, Tran Quoc Thinh and Nguyen Pham Minh Tan majoring in Control and Automation to participate in the Taiwan Experience Education Program 2023 (TEEP 2023) at National University Ilan. This is a great opportunity to experience indigenous culture and life, along with studying in the field of motors.

A memorable trip with Taiwanese friends and exchange with locals.

During the five-week internship, they learned about engines and used SolidWorks and ANSYS software to design; prepare a report in English to present in the competition "Design of high-efficiency rotary compressor motors 2023" with the topic of optimizing and comparing motors with stators 16, 20, 24 tracks and rotors 22, 26, 30 tracks. Each group consists of 3 to 4 students representing the Faculty of Electrical and English Language (Vietnam) and APEC students (Taiwan). Despite facing language and intensive working schedule challenges, the teams supported each other and worked well together to complete the task. Determination and accountability have helped teams overcome challenges and achieve impressive results. As a result, their presentation at RECHI company received high praise from 6 highly qualified judges.

Every Monday, they would attend lessons taught by Professor Chen. The teaching methods here were unique and effective, where teachers created many interesting topics but still ensured students acquire knowledge. For example, in English class, students learned new vocabulary and structures by writing CVs and finding answers through videos or group discussions. Communicating in English is also a good way to improve foreign language skills.

In addition, they had the opportunity to visit some of Taiwan's leading engine manufacturers, including Taigene, Teco and Rechi. They allowed IUH students to observe each production process and encourage students to ask questions and interact with them. The most impressive thing is that they extensively use modern CNC equipment for machining, robotic arms to replace humans in performing repetitive tasks, allowing consistent results to be achieved with high efficiency and accuracy.

Although five weeks is not a long time, these valuable experiences are an important steppingstone for students, as they not only allow them to improve their technical knowledge and soft skills, but also help develop confidence and a mature mindset, bring new opportunities for their future career.

The Department of Electrical Technology is extremely grateful to Prof. Chen and TEEP for creating opportunities for IUH students to study at NIU and hopes that students in future courses will continue and develop further in the next exchange programs.
