IUH ready to welcome students back to campus 14-02-2022

Starting from February 14, 2022, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City will welcome students back to study at the university after online study due to the impact of covid-19. All preparations have been completed and ready to ensure the safest and most favorable environment for students, especially new students.

The epidemic prevention is guaranteed

Classroom areas, laboratories, workshops, campuses have been cleaned and disinfected to ensure safety when students return to campus for in-person study. The university propagates and disseminates to students, officials and lecturers to always comply with the regulations by all levels to ensure effective prevention and control of COVID-19. In addition, the university's medical department is always on duty to check the health of students every day. In particular, the university also arranges its own area to isolate students in case they show COVID-19 symptoms. Health care workers are on duty to take samples for suspected cases of COVID-19 so as not to affect other students. Students, staff, and faculty must receive two covid-19 vaccines or have made a full recovery from COVID-19 to attend school. Students, staff and faculty must make daily online medical declarations and only enter the school when receiving emails confirming they have a green card.

Currently, the university also supports students to get the COVID-19 vaccine directly on campus. Dr. Phan Hồng Hải, the Rector, said: "In the recent time, thank to the advantage of being the injection site of Go Vap district, the university has given injections to nearly 20,000 students present in Ho Chi Minh City. Based on the survey, provincial students are facilitated to receive the full 2 and 3 doses of vaccines when they return to IUH. Students can go to the designated location in the county for injections or the university will gather a number of students and ask the medical staff to come to the university for the injection."

Admitting students to Dormitories, supporting students to find accommodation

Understanding that students, especially new students, face difficulties in finding accommodation, the university has directed the Dormitory Management Office and the unions to implement measures to support students. From February 9, 2022, offices have been working on the phone and advise students when requested. On February 10, the university admitted about 1500 students to dormitory. The Dormitory Management Office also regularly guide epidemic prevention and inspection. In addition, the unions have made a list of prestigious rooms for rent to introduce to students and parents when coming to register at the school. Using Facebook, the Student Union has interacted, introduced and answered questions about the hostels as well as issues arising during the back-to-university period. The amount of information about the hostel and photos, live videos are constantly updated on this fanpage, so students easily access to choose the appropriate accommodation for themselves. In addition, the unions have also introduced reliable part-time jobss, helping students cover a part of living expenses.

Continuous deployment of covid-19 Support Fund

In 2021, IUH has allocated a 25-billion-VND Support Fund for students affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. Over the past 02 semesters, many students have been approached, and supported in a timely manner so that they could overcome difficulties in the complex COVID-19 period. The total amount of support for students in 2021 is more than 10 billion. In the coming time, the University's Student Affairs office will continue to review valid applications to promptly solve difficulties for students.

By this time, all preparations had been completed. IUH is ready to welcome students back to school for an even more successful new year.
