IUH Implements Action Program to Execute Resolutions on Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation 25-09-2025

To concretize the Party and National Assembly’s major orientations in promoting science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) has promptly developed an action plan to lay the foundation for sustainable development in the new era.

On August 13, 2025, IUH issued Decision No. 26801-QĐ-ĐHCN on the implementation of an action program to realize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in developing national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, and Resolution No. 193/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting special mechanisms and policies in these areas.

This strategic plan reaffirms IUH’s commitment to becoming one of Vietnam’s leading universities in research, innovation, and digital transformation—closely aligned with the nation’s overall development goals.

At its most recent international conference in September 2025, IUH welcomed numerous domestic and international scholars and experts to deliver thematic reports.

Key Components of the Action Program:

• Promoting key scientific and technological research:

 In 2025, IUH officially launched five new academic programs, including Financial Technology (Fintech), Nuclear Power, Energy Management, and Artificial Intelligence, among others. These cutting-edge fields anticipate future development trends and meet the demand for high-quality human resources, aligning with the directions outlined in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.

• Building an innovation ecosystem linked with enterprises:

 IUH is fostering start-ups and spin-offs, expanding entrepreneurial and innovation activities, and enhancing the commercialization of research outcomes and technology transfer into practical applications.

• Developing high-quality human resources:

 The university is establishing strong research groups, sending lecturers for PhD training domestically and abroad, while also attracting international scholars to participate in teaching and research activities.

• Accelerating comprehensive digital transformation:

 Digital transformation is being implemented synchronously across training, research, and university governance, with a focus on developing data centers, digital learning resources, and intelligent management systems.

• Expanding international cooperation:

 IUH continues to strengthen its partnerships with global universities, research institutes, and enterprises, aiming to increase the number of high-quality scientific publications, patents, and joint research projects with industry partners.

Development Goals by 2030:

This action program not only translates the Party and State’s strategic orientations into practice but also serves as a guiding framework for IUH’s sustainable development in the coming years. By 2030, IUH aims to:

 • Achieve at least 20 patents per year (including international patents);

 • Establish 04 key research centers;

 • Develop 30 strong research groups;

 • Reach 30% of courses taught online;

 • Increase international publications by 15% annually;

 • Grow S&T-generated revenue by at least 5% per year.

In April 2025, the IUH Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Transfer was honored with a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training for its outstanding achievements in supporting student entrepreneurship from 2017 to 2025 (Project 1665). On this occasion, IUH student teams also won numerous awards at the 7th SV-Startup National Competition.

The comprehensive implementation of this Action Program demonstrates the determination of IUH’s leadership, staff, and faculty to accompany the national strategy for science and technology development—contributing human resources and intellectual capacity to the country’s industrialization and modernization, while affirming IUH’s position as a multi-disciplinary, innovative, and digitally pioneering university with regional and international reach.
