VND 80 billion in Scholarships for the 2025–2026 Academic Year at IUH: Education Not Only Nurtures Knowledge but Also Preserves Dreams 02-10-2025
For the 2025–2026 academic year, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) welcomes more than 12,000 freshmen and allocates VND 80 billion in scholarships — a strong affirmation of its student-centered philosophy and commitment to fostering learning motivation.
Previously, IUH’s scholarship fund increased from VND 60 billion in 2023–2024 to nearly VND 80 billion in 2024–2025, and now continues to be maintained, demonstrating the university’s consistency in policies that support and accompany students throughout their educational journey.
A Competitive Admission Season with Outstanding Achievements
In the 2025 admission cycle, IUH maintained its four admission methods, with the high school graduation exam score-based method attracting the largest number of successful applicants. Admission scores ranged from 17 to 26.5 points, with several programs—particularly Mechatronics Engineering Technology and Automation Engineering—increasing by 2 points compared to 2024, highlighting the growing appeal of the engineering–technology disciplines.
At the Freshmen Welcome Festival 2025, IUH honored nine students with the highest entrance scores across disciplines. Among them, Lê Thị Huỳnh Như (Economic Law major) achieved an impressive 27.97 points (C00 block), becoming the university’s top valedictorian — marking the second time the Law program has earned this distinction. Each departmental valedictorian received a VND 10 million scholarship, while the university’s top valedictorian was awarded an additional VND 50 million prize, sponsored by Nam A Bank. Emotionally sharing her thoughts, Huỳnh Như said: “Being listed among the scholarship recipients was already a great joy, but becoming the university’s valedictorian is truly an unexpected and honorable achievement. This is not only my own pride but also my family’s. Today’s success marks the beginning of my journey ahead.”

IUH and Its Partners: Sharing Compassion and Responsibility. In addition to entrance scholarships, IUH presented 25 merit scholarships to outstanding students of 2024–2025, each worth VND 2 million. Notably, during the Freshmen Welcome Festival, university partners and sponsors contributed over VND 1 billion to the scholarship and student activity fund.
IUH also awarded 22 “Supporting Students to School” scholarships (including 2 special awards) with a total value of VND 400 million, as part of the program initiated by Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper to assist disadvantaged freshmen. A remarkable example is freshman Thái Quốc Đạt, a Mechanical Engineering student who lost both parents and lives with his grandmother. Đạt received a “Supporting Students to School” scholarship sponsored by IUH. Recognizing his situation, the university waived all dormitory fees and urgently reviewed tuition exemptions to ensure he could pursue his studies without financial concern.
For students who are not eligible under state policies, IUH supports them through the “Overcoming Hardship – Striving for Excellence” Fund, guaranteeing full tuition waivers. According to Dr. Phan Hồng Hải – President of IUH: “This is not merely financial support but a commitment of care, responsibility, and trust. Education must protect even the dreams that are on the verge of being lost.”

Practical Support from Faculty and Sponsors. Dr. Nguyễn Trung Nhân – Head of the Training Department, added: “The university, together with its sponsors, also offered Đạt an additional VND 5 million in initial support and a laptop worth VND 20 million right at the ‘Freshmen Welcome Festival 2025.’”
The nine freshmen with the highest entrance scores in 2025 received IUH’s entrance scholarships.
Expanding Scholarship Opportunities Throughout the Study Journey
Beyond the awards presented at the festival, IUH maintains various scholarship programs throughout students’ studies. Depending on performance, scholarships can cover 100% to 130% of the average tuition fee per semester.
