Faculty of Finance and Banking organized the Student Science Conference 2021 11-06-2021
In the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the students’ science research activities of the Faculty of Finance and Banking still took place actively. On June 11, 2021, the Faculty’s Student Science Conference took place online on the Zoom platform. Despite being conducted online, the conference still attracted a large number of students.

Although it is the first time that the Faculty-Level Students’ Science Research Conference is held, the number of researches participating in the selection round is quite high with 172 projects, including 113 projects in Banking and Finance and 59 projects in Corporate Finance. After 2 rounds of thorough review, the Councils selected 21 best projects to report at the Conference.
The Students’ Science Research Conference of Finance and Banking Faculty attracted nearly 500 attendees.
According to the general assessment of the councils, the general ground on the research of the projects is quite good. Some have boldly researched in new fields such as "Factors affecting the ability of startup students to mobilize capital in Ho Chi Minh City" by Dang Ngoc Diem Quynh, Hoang Thi Phuong Thao, Phan Tran Bach Tuyet. In terms of method, the topic "Factors affecting the profitability of commercial banks in Vietnam: A quantile Regression approach" of authors Nguyen Ngoc Tran and Ton Thi Hong Yen carried out a linear regression according to each piece of data, instead of the traditional approach of analyzing linear regression on the entire data, helping to make more in-depth discoveries about data sets that have been mined in many previous researches.

From 21 projects presented at 03 councils, the Organizing Committee has selected and awarded prizes for outstanding projects, specifically as follows:
The First Prizes have been awarded for the following projects:
- Project: "Impact of capital structure on profitability of telecommunications enterprises listed on Vietnam's stock market" by Le Thi Hoai Linh, Le Thi Hoa and Nguyen Thi Minh Trang.
- Project: "Factors impacting the profitability of commercial banks in Vietnam: A quantile regression approach" by Nguyen Ngoc Tran and Ton Thi Hong Yen.
- Project: "Factors affecting the share prices of food enterprises listed on the Vietnamese stock market" by Nguyen Ba Tuan, Tran Thi Ngoc Duyen and Truong Minh Ngoc.
- Project: "Financial development and efficiency of corporate investment in Vietnam" by authors Ho Thi Phuong Dung, Tran Nguyen Minh Tam and Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien.
The second prize was awarded to the project: "The impact of the capital structure on the performance of steel enterprises listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange" by Nguyen Thi My Linh, Tran Thi Nhu Phuong and Vu Thi Tuyet Nhung.
The third prize was awarded to the project: "The impact of capital structure on the profitability of food and beverage enterprises on the Vietnamese stock market" by the authors Truong Thi Nhan, Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen and Nguyen The Bao.
