Distinctive Features of IUH Opening Ceremon 12-10-2023

At the start of every academic year, schools typically host Opening Ceremonies, yet few can match the scale and grandeur of IUH. The Opening Ceremony, held at the Military Zone 7 Stadium – one of the largest stadiums in Ho Chi Minh City, exemplified the exuberance of IUH's faculty and students.

Unlike typical Commencement Ceremony programs, IUHers will partake in an all-day Opening Ceremony featuring a multitude of engaging activities.

1. New Student Welcome Day:

From 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the New Student Welcome Day will feature enjoyable and experiential activities for students. Thanks to our generous sponsors, over 10,000 valuable gifts, with a combined worth of one billion VND, will be distributed to the students.

Moreover, as part of the event, IUH students will have the chance to earn helmets as rewards upon successfully completing certain challenges. This festival is not exclusive to IUH recruits; it serves as a platform for earning training points and "power golden tickets," granting access to the evening music program, which is open to all students from various courses. The New Student Welcome Day is designed to cultivate a healthy, playful, and educational environment while also offering an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the school and facilitating exchanges and interactions among peers.

As part of the festival's schedule, students will be engrossed in games that provide them with a chance to gain a deeper understanding of various clubs, teams, and groups within the university.

The festival also serves as the platform where "swordfish" can earn the highest number of training points, with a maximum achievable total of 12 points.

2. Opening Program

From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City conducted its Opening Ceremony with the distinguished presence of faculty, staff, and an annual gathering of over 12,000 students. Furthermore, this yearly event also extended a warm welcome to esteemed guests, including officials from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, city leaders from Ho Chi Minh City, leaders from both central and local government departments, various mass organizations, friendly collaborators, international organizations, businesses, generous donors, and representatives from media outlets.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, a Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Personnel Committee, and the Minister of Industry and Trade, delivered an address directing the commencement of the 2022–2023 academic year.

Furthermore, as part of the Opening Ceremony tradition, each year, outstanding new students who performed exceptionally well during the enrollment period and students with outstanding academic achievements are honored with valuable gifts. These prizes include AirBlade motorbikes, laptops, and numerous scholarships with a collective value exceeding 100 million VND. These scholarships are funded through the Student Scholarship Support Fund, which amounts to 60 billion VND annually.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hong – Vice Rector of the school awarded scholarships to students with excellent achievements at the Opening Ceremony of the academic year 2022 – 2023.
