Conference of Officials and Employees of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 08-02-2025

The year 2025 marks a significant milestone for the education sector as it implements the theme "Innovation, Quality Improvement, Solidarity, and Discipline." It is also the concluding year of the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party. Additionally, 2025 marks the fourth year of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City’s (IUH) development plan for the 2021–2026 period, the fifth year of executing the Resolution of the University Party Congress for the 2020–2025 term, and the continued implementation of the university's autonomy mechanism.

The scene at the conference

On February 7, 2025, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the 2025 Conference of Delegates for Officials and Employees. The conference reviewed and evaluated the implementation of the 2024 Resolution of the Conference of Delegates for Public Employees and Staff, while also formulating a detailed plan to ensure the successful implementation of the 2025 Resolution.

Attending the conference, representing the Union of Industry and Trade, were Mr. Vu Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Industry and Trade, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Vietnam Union of Industry and Trade.

On behalf of the university, attendees included Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University; Dr. Le Ngoc Son, Chairman of the University’s Union; along with members of the Party Committee, the Board of Rectors, and more than 249 delegates representing officials and employees from across the university.

Delegates at the Conference

To facilitate the collection of opinions and the election of delegates for the school-level conference, units across the university held the 2025 Conference of Officials and Employees from December 30, 2024, to January 6, 2025. During these grassroots conferences, each unit reviewed its activity report and outlined its operational directions for the upcoming year.

At the main conference, delegates watched a video highlighting the university’s key achievements in 2024. They also actively participated in discussions, proposing specific solutions to successfully implement the university’s 2025 targets and action programs. On behalf of the Presidium, Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, presented updates to the university’s Internal Expenditure Regulations for 2025.

It can be said that 2024 was a remarkable year for IUH, marked by significant achievements that laid a strong foundation for 2025—the final year of implementing the resolution of the University Party Congress for the 2020–2025 term.

The Presidium and the Secretariat at the Conference

Mr. Vu Truong Son – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Industry and Trade also congratulated the outstanding achievements that the University has achieved in the past year, directing the grassroots Union to organize for officials and employees to contribute to the draft ideas for developing policies,  relevant laws.

In recognition of these achievements, the university was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Notably, three individuals were honored for their outstanding contributions: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hong, Vice Rector of the University; Ms. Pham Thi Que Minh, Head of the Finance – Accounting Department; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Organization – Administration Department. Each received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Mr. Vu Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Industry and Trade, and Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, represented the superior union in presenting Certificates of Merit to the lecturers.

As part of the conference agenda, Ms. Vo Thi Thu Thuy, Head of the People's Inspection Board, presented the 2024 performance report and provided a summary of the board’s activities for the 2023–2025 term.

Following this, the election for the People's Inspection Board for the 2025–2027 term was conducted in a democratic, open, and transparent manner. The election results selected three members: Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Head of the Planning and Investment Department; Mr. Nguyen Quan, Lecturer of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology; and Ms. Vo Thi Thu Thuy, Head of the Department of Commerce and Tourism.

The newly elected People's Inspection Board for the 2025–2027 term is committed to strengthening its supervisory role, ensuring transparency and fairness in the university’s operations, and actively listening to and addressing feedback from officials and employees.

At the conference, participants listened to several insightful presentations:

Presentation 1: Promoting International Cooperation to Enhance Training Quality and Scientific Research, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Ngoc Nam, Head of the Department of Scientific Management and International Affairs.

Presentation 2: AI in Education: Challenges and Opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam, presented by Dr. Le Nhat Duy, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology.

Presentation 3: Orientation of Human Resource Training for Vietnam's Nuclear Power Industry, led by Dr. Tran Thanh Ngoc, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology.
