On February 25, the Faculty of Information Technology at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IT-IUH) hosted a workshop titled "AI in Education: Opportunities, Challenges, and Training Orientations at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City." The event brought together experts to share insights, creating new opportunities for aligning training resources with emerging trends.
The workshop was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Trung Hieu, Vice Rector of the university; Dr. Le Nhat Duy, Dean of the Faculty of IT; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Tuong Nguyen, Deputy Dean; Dr. Dang Thi Phuc, Deputy Dean; along with faculty leaders, lecturers, and department heads. Notably, Prof. Dr. Do Phuc from the University of Information Technology, VNU Ho Chi Minh City, shared valuable insights on integrating AI technology into teaching and training.
Amid the global economic transition and the rapid advancement of knowledge and technology in the digital era, it is essential to encourage trainees, students, and lecturers to engage in scientific research, develop practical scientific and technological products, and enhance the role of young intellectuals.
Sharing at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Trung Hieu said: " The integration of AI into teaching and training is a key direction for the university. Graduates will be expected to meet output standards that include digital skills. In the near future, this application will first be implemented in the Faculties of Information Technology and Electronic Technology. The topic has also garnered significant interest from experts and both domestic and international learners."

The workshop featured two insightful presentations:
Presentation 1: "Education in the AI Era: Updating Training Programs and Teaching Methods with AI Support" by Prof. Dr. Do Phuc from the University of Information Technology, VNU Ho Chi Minh City. In his presentation, Prof. Phuc discussed the current state of AI teaching in ICT, highlighting the challenges and difficulties in updating training programs. He also explored AI-supported teaching methods, offering valuable insights for educators.
Prof. Dr. Do Phuc is a distinguished scientist with significant contributions in text processing, bioinformatics, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, knowledge graphs, Q&A systems, and big data applications. He has led eight diverse research projects, published over 50 scientific articles in prestigious journals, and contributed more than 70 papers to international and domestic conferences. Additionally, he has authored five reference books, three textbooks, and four book chapters in computer science and its applications.
Presentation 2: "AI Training at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City: Challenges and Orientations" by Dr. Ton Long Phuoc, an IT lecturer at IUH. His presentation addressed state policies related to AI education and proposed updates to the ICT training program at IUH to align with industry demands.

Following the workshop, participants and experts highly valued the topics presented and engaged in a lively discussion on the impact of artificial intelligence on education, particularly in the fields of information technology and electronics. Key issues discussed included AI teaching resources, its benefits and challenges, and strategies for effectively utilizing AI while ensuring intellectual property protection.
