2019 Rockwell Final Automation Project-based Learning Competition 25-10-2019
On 25th October 2019, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City hosted the 2019 Rockwell final automation project-based learning competition with participations of 13 pre-final winning teams from Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Da Nang University of Technology (DUT) and Lac Hong University (LHU) from August 2018 to October 2019. These are famous universities in term of technology, generally speaking, and electrical-electronic field, particularly speaking.

The Automation Project-based Learning Competition supported by USAID Vietnam, BUILD-IT, Rockwell Automation Viet Nam Limited Liability Company, Qui Long Company, First Solar Vietnam Manufacturing Co., Ltd and Polyco Group was built on the purpose of creating a innovate playing ground for students of Electricity – Electronics - Automation to enhance their understandings of new equipment in the world. This event was considered as a chance for experience communicating and exchanging among instructors and students from different universities, promoting scientific research and innovation in study.
IUH top leader is delivering gifts for competition organizers
To complete the contest with all best, the candidates had spent 2 months on learning and practicing the automation Kits donated by Rockwell Automation Vietnam and Polyco Group. The competition lasted in 180 minutes. All candidates implied knowledge and practical skilled they learnt before together with method of Automation Project based Learning, producing new ideals to solve problems in reality.

The two final winning teams come from IUH. The first prize team included two students, namely, Hoang Manh Duc and Nguyen Quyet Thang received a fully-funded trip to visit the Rockwell Automation Regional Headquarters in Singapore together with a monetary bonus of VND$10ml. The second prize team included two students, namely, Nguyen Duong Hong Thai and Nguyen Van Thai received a monetary bonus of VND$5ml. During the trip to Rockwell Automation Regional Headquarters in Singapore, the first prize team members will have a chance to visit the Connected Services Experience Centre for further understanding of smart solutions come from rich experienced engineers of Rockwell Automation.

According to Mr Le Van Hai, Rockwell Automation Viet Nam Limited Liability Company is the largest company in the world that is dedicated to industrial automation and information. Rockwell Automation always do its best to provide professional engineers with readiness for adaption to changes in automation field to help enhance competitiveness of Vietnam in global market. After the competition, Rockwell Automation and USAID together with BUILD-IT will continuously support university partners in setting up automation laboratories, applying new knowledge and skills from the competition in future teaching.
