Signing ceremony on academic cooperation between ASU and IUH 05-10-2018

On 2nd Oct, 2018 the signing ceremony on academic operation between Angelo State University (ASU) and Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) was held in Ho Chi Minh City, supported and promoted by the Ellacy Global Education (EGE).

Representatives from ASU were Dr Jae Won Lee, Executive Director (Asian Relations) to the Provost; Mr Nguyen Tan Cuong - – Executive Director of EGE and Mrs Nguyen Que Chi - President of EGE. The vice president of IUH, Dr Nguyen Chi Hieu, on behalf of IUH’s President participated in the meeting with Assoc. Dr. Dam Sao Mai – Director of Research Management and International Cooperation Office, Dr. Le Ngoc Son – Director of Postgraduate Office and some Deans from different faculties.

Angelo State University (ASU) is a public university located in Texas, established in 1928 with nearly 10,000 students. ASU has been selected by The Princeton Review for nine consecutive years as one of the top 15% “Best Colleges” in the U.S.A. Its dorm is nationally ranked number 5 in term of affordable cost and safety and is also the unique one in Texas receiving this recognition. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Bachelor’s degree programs in ASU include Business Administration, International Trade, Finance, Accounting, Management, Information Management System, Marketing, Biology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, English, Communication, etc., ASU’s students have chance to be awarded Financial Aid Program from Carr Scholarships and Ellacy Global Education depending on their academic achievement.

Both sides agreed on setting cohort academic programs 2+2 in area of Business Administration, Coporate Finance, Accounting, English, Computer Science, Natural Resource Management and Environment; student exchange, faculty exchange; and research collaboration. IUH is also willing to receive oversea faculties, especially to ASU’s professors, participating in delivering short course training at IUH in Vietnam.

Aiming to provide good opportunities for Vietnamese students in an advanced studying environment in U.S.A, representatives from the two universities discussed on cohort academic programs including (2+2) Bachelor’s degree program and (1+1) Master’s degree program. The (2+2) Bachelor’s degree program in which 2 years delivered in U.S.A. and 2 years in Vietnam helps Vietnames students reduce study cost. To meet English requirement, students learn English before officially entering the program. Freshmore students could be awarded scholarships following policies of Carr Scholarships và Ellacy Global Education. General education graduates are input of the univesity.

Dr. Jae Won Lee expressed his feelings on the hospitality given by IUH’s leaders and directors. He also expressed his hope of receiving visiting missions from IUH’s staff and students for teaching and studying at ASU in near future.
