IUH Lecturers Attend International Training Program in China: Knowledge Exchange and Expanding Cooperation 06-08-2025
Two lecturers from the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) — Dr. Pham Minh Tuan (Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology) and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hiep (Faculty of Foreign Languages) — recently participated in a meaningful international training program in China. The trip not only provided specialized knowledge but also opened opportunities for academic exchange, global collaboration, and cultural experience.
From June 29 to July 19, 2025, the two lecturers attended a training course on Food Safety, Health, and Life Safety in Hubei Province, China. The program was organized by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology through an official invitation to developing countries. The course aimed to enhance technical capacity in areas such as food safety, public health, and life sciences — all global concerns in today’s context.
Participants from various countries gather at Hubei University of Technology for the training course.
The training took place at Hubei University of Technology, with over 20 participants from African and South Asian countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and others. Vietnam was represented by IUH, highlighting its active role in international scientific and educational cooperation. All participants were professionals and lecturers with at least a bachelor’s degree, working in fields such as food technology, biology, agriculture, and medicine.

Over the two-week course, the IUH lecturers engaged in a comprehensive training program combining in-depth theoretical lectures, laboratory sessions, and field trips to enterprises. Topics covered a wide range of fields, including precision nutrition, probiotics, stem cell applications, gut microbiota, traditional Chinese medicine, and nanotechnology in pharmaceuticals. Leading experts delivered each session from Hubei University of Technology and its affiliated research institutes.
In addition to academic activities, the participants visited major biotech and food production companies in Wuhan, such as Wuhan Weike Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Zhou Hei Ya International Holdings Co., Ltd., Wuhan Binhuibiotech Co., Ltd., and Wuhan Plant Ark Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. These visits provided practical insights and a deeper understanding of China’s innovation and technology ecosystem.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. He Xingyang, Vice President of Hubei University of Technology, emphasized that the training was part of the “Belt and Road” scientific and technological cooperation initiative. He stated: “Through this program, developing countries have the opportunity to access new technologies and strengthen knowledge and human resource exchange to safeguard global public health jointly.”
Reflecting on the trip, Dr. Pham Minh Tuan and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hiep highly appreciated the value of the program. It was not only a chance to deepen their professional expertise but also to gain a multidimensional perspective on trends in food safety and public health. Moreover, it served as a bridge for technology transfer and academic collaboration between IUH and international partners. Both lecturers expressed their commitment to applying the knowledge and experience gained to enhance their teaching and research work, thereby contributing to the improvement of training quality at IUH amid growing global integration.
