From December 9 to December 20, 2024, Ms. Le Thi Thuy, a lecturer at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at IUH, participated in a lecturer exchange program at Kasem Bundit University (KBU).

During her two weeks in Thailand, Ms. Thuy shared her expertise through lectures on Vietnam’s unique culture. Students from various countries, including Myanmar, Cameroon, Somalia, Cambodia, and Thailand, had the opportunity to explore the richness and distinctiveness of the beautiful S-shaped country.

The sessions were engaging, featuring lessons from English Reading Comprehension for Lifelong Learning (EL1210) and readings on the history, significance, and iconic characters of Vietnamese water puppetry. International students were enthusiastic about learning about this unique art form and expressed excitement about experiencing it firsthand when visiting Vietnam in the future.

In the EL1103 – Language and Culture lesson, students explored Tò he, a vibrant cultural tradition of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta. Adding to the excitement, KBU students had the opportunity to mold creative figurines using rice-flour clay brought from Vietnam. Despite being unfamiliar with the traditional material, they thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience, their hands covered in clay as they proudly admired their own creations.

On the final day of the program in Thailand, which also marked the last day of 2024, Ms. Le Thi Thuy introduced KBU students to the unique cultural traditions of the Vietnamese New Year. To celebrate the occasion, students wrote New Year’s greetings and created meaningful Vietnamese-language cards for one another.

" Through this enriching experience, we discovered the unique cultural aspects of a beautiful country full of fascinating traditions. Learning about Vietnam’s cultural history through engaging lessons made the exchange both accessible and exciting. This experience sparked our curiosity and deepened our interest in Vietnamese culture. We hope that one day we will have the opportunity to visit Vietnam, explore IUH, and continue learning and exchanging knowledge." KBU students shared.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thuy: " During this trip, I found that international students were incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and actively engaged in learning activities. I hope that in the future, IUH will have the opportunity to welcome them to our campus in Ho Chi Minh City.

Over the years, the university has actively promoted international lecturer exchange programs, fostering an academic environment that supports training, cultural exchange, and stronger international collaboration.
