Brilliant Summer Days at IUH for Students from National Yilan University, Taiwan (NIU) 16-08-2024

"We had many unforgettable summer days, exploring a creative and promising learning environment. We enhanced our knowledge and skills through hands-on experiences and gained a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and its people."

This sentiment was shared by Phinda and Harry, students from National Yilan University, Taiwan, during the closing session following their four-week study and experience at the Faculty of Electrical Technology, IUH.


In July 2024, Phinda and Harry enrolled in the exchange and credit recognition program for international students. The four-week program, which they described as a blend of exploration and practical application, provided them with valuable research experience at the Faculty of Electrical Technology, IUH.

Their enthusiasm for studying at IUH fostered a positive and productive atmosphere among both the faculty and students. During their time at IUH, they had the opportunity to engage in a variety of scientific research activities in a dynamic learning environment.

During this four-week journey, Phinda and Harry were involved in various plans and projects. One of the most memorable experiences was attending the MECA 2024 contest. They cheered on and proudly witnessed the Automation students from the Faculty of Electrical Technology secure a decisive first-place victory, triumphing over approximately 20 top universities from across Vietnam.

They joined in the celebration with the MECA 2024 team from IUH's Faculty of Electrical Technology, sharing in the excitement of the win.

By attending exhibitions of footwear manufacturing companies, exchange students gained valuable insights into the production process and quality management in the industry. This experience provided an opportunity to observe advanced technology, the production process, and the operations of a real business firsthand.

In addition, Phinda and Harry dedicated time to research projects in the Department of Electrical Engineering’s laboratory, working on topics such as renewable energy, smart grid applications, and MatLab simulations for engine control algorithms. Throughout their research, they were guided and supported by esteemed faculty members. This hands-on experience allowed them to apply newly acquired knowledge in practical settings, enhancing their skills and expertise. They also practiced teamwork and developed their logical and creative thinking abilities.

Their time of study and practical experiences not only deepened their professional knowledge but also broadened their perspectives on education and scientific research. This program created opportunities for cultural exchange, allowing international students to build relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam and its people.

Reflecting on their time at IUH, Phinda and Harry not only take pride in their academic achievements but also cherish the cultural values and knowledge they gained. Phinda shared, 'This has truly been a memorable and meaningful time in our lives.' They expressed their gratitude to the lecturers who dedicated time to guide them and share valuable knowledge and experiences. They also extended their heartfelt thanks to the university for providing international students with the opportunity to study and experience the rich cultural environment at the University of Industry Ho Chi Minh City.

The collaboration between IUH and NIU not only yields academic benefits but also fosters a strong and sustainable relationship between the two institutions. In recent years, the partnership between the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) and National Yilan University (NIU) has been increasingly active, particularly in the realm of scientific research. We look forward to seeing this collaboration continue to grow and strengthen in the future.
