Inauguration of IUH Institute of Finance and Accountancy and Appointment of Institute Management Officials 23-09-2023

On September 22, 2023, in Meeting Room E3.02, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City Commences Institute of Finance and Accounting and Appoints Management Officials.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Huynh Trung Hieu, Vice Rector responsible for the institution, Mr. Pham Trung Kien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Human Resource – Administration Department, Mr. Hoang Do, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Political Work and Student Support Department, Mr. Le Ngoc Son, a Party Member and Chairman of the School Union, as well as faculty members and officials affiliated with the institute.

The establishment of the Institute of Finance and Accounting marks a significant milestone, resulting from the consolidation of the Faculty of Accounting-Auditing and the Faculty of Finance-Banking. This amalgamation is a crucial step toward fostering the growth of the economic and financial sector in the foreseeable future. The institute's vision is to evolve into a renowned educational, research, and consultancy institution in Vietnam, specializing in Sustainable Finance and interdisciplinary training programs that seamlessly blend Sustainable Finance with related fields. This innovative approach has garnered commendation from both private and public sector stakeholders.

Mr. Huynh Trung Hieu Presents the Decision to Establish the Institute of Finance and Accounting to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Huynh Trung Hieu stated, "Originating from real-world requirements, which encompass academic pursuits, policy guidance, and educational and advisory services in the realm of finance and accounting, and evolving from the amalgamation of the Faculty of Finance-Banking and the Faculty of Accounting-Auditing, the Party Committee and the School Management Board have resolved to inaugurate the Institute of Finance and Accounting. It is our aspiration that the Institute of Finance and Accounting will work in harmony to achieve the University's set objectives in the times ahead."

During the ceremony, Mr. Pham Trung Kien disclosed the decisions pertaining to the deployment and appointment of management officials, specifying:

- Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, formerly the Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, will assume the role of Director;

- Mr. Huynh Tan Dung, previously the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, will serve as the Deputy Director;

- Ms. Co Thi Thanh Huong, the former Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, is appointed as the Deputy Director;

Mr. Huynh Trung Hieu presented the Decision for the appointment of management officers.

Alongside the appointment of the Institute's management officer, Mr. Pham Trung Kien also revealed the decision to designate four Department Heads and one Director for the Simulation Center within the Institute.

Accepting the responsibility, on behalf of the newly appointed management officer, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien expressed her gratitude to the University's Board of Rectors and the faculty members who are also instructors at the Institute of Finance and Accounting. She appreciates the trust placed in her and her colleagues for the upcoming management tasks. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien emphasized her hope that the Institute of Finance and Accounting will maintain the University's support and continue to receive assistance from its faculty, students, and external partners. This collective effort will contribute to the institute's sustainable development in the future.
