IUH Presenter Shares Experience at International Conference Organized by MOET and AUN 21-08-2025

Among six higher education institutions in Southeast Asia invited to present, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (IUH) was honored to represent and deliver a presentation at the international conference “Enhancing Internal Quality Assurance Systems: A Foundation for Sustainable Development of ASEAN Higher Education.”

The conference was organized by the Department of Quality Management – Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), in collaboration with the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat and the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO-RIHED). It was held at the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, on August 18–19, 2025.

At the session on Good Practices in Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), Dr. Nguyễn Huy Phúc, representing IUH, delivered a presentation on strategies, lessons learned, and effective practices in building and operating internal quality assurance systems linked to university autonomy, accreditation, and sustainable development. This topic highlighted IUH as one of only six higher education institutions in Southeast Asia invited to report, and the sole representative from Vietnam to participate in this session.

In addition to the official report, IUH staff and lecturers actively engaged in in-depth group discussions throughout the conference. Their contributions focused on key topics such as strategic design, IQA processes and system structures, shifting mindsets and quality management behaviors, organizational capacity development, and developing IQA implementation tools tailored to the specific context of Vietnamese higher education institutions. IUH’s proactive and committed participation not only brought practical insights but also helped foster a spirit of cooperation and mutual learning among universities in the region.

The conference drew more than 200 in-person participants from Vietnam and abroad, as well as 155 online hubs with nearly 5,000 participants. This strategic event provided a vital forum for ASEAN higher education institutions to exchange and share experiences in implementing internal quality assurance systems (IQA), aiming toward a sustainable higher education sector.
