IUH Achieves 100% Participation in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Training 25-08-2025
In July and August 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (IUH) successfully organized an occupational safety and hygiene training program for all staff, employees, and managers, in full compliance with relevant regulations.
The program achieved 100% participation from all staff and employees.
The training was delivered to Group 4 (lecturers, staff, and employees) and Group 6 (heads, deputy heads of units, and occupational safety and hygiene leaders) of IUH. The sessions were directly presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hùng Anh – Director of the Institute of Science, Technology & Environmental Management, and Dr. Nguyễn Thị Lan Bình – Lecturer of the Institute. A highlight of this year’s program was that IUH had sufficient internal resources to appoint its own experts as trainers, demonstrating professionalism and internal capacity to meet the university’s training needs effectively.
According to reports, 1,311 out of 1,311 staff and employees fully participated, reaching a 100% completion rate. The final assessment results showed that all trainees met the requirements and were issued occupational safety monitoring records in accordance with current regulations.
This year’s training content focused on updating new regulations on occupational safety and hygiene under the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene, as well as related decrees and circulars. It also equipped participants with knowledge and skills in risk prevention and accident handling, emergency response and first aid procedures, while guiding them in hazard identification and risk assessment in the workplace.
Dr. Nguyễn Thị Lan Bình – Lecturer at the Institute of Science, Technology & Environmental Management – delivered theoretical content on essential skills in occupational safety and hygiene.
In addition to theory, the program enhanced practical training, enabling participants to engage in simulated scenarios, practice incident handling skills, and use protective equipment and safety devices. This helped learners not only master theory but also strengthen their ability to apply knowledge in real-life situations.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lê Hùng Anh, Director of the Institute of Science, Technology & Environmental Management, demonstrated practical techniques in rescue breathing and external chest compressions for victims experiencing respiratory arrest.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyễn Xuân Hồng – Vice Rector and Head of the Occupational Safety and Hygiene Committee – emphasized: “Occupational safety and hygiene training plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and employees. The addition of practical modules has deepened the program, enhanced applied skills and fostering self-discipline in compliance, thereby contributing to building IUH into a safe and sustainable workplace.”
Dr. Nguyễn Xuân Hồng – Vice Rector and Head of the Occupational Safety and Hygiene Committee – delivered remarks at the training program.
The program was evaluated as being strictly implemented in compliance with regulations, effectively raising awareness and strengthening IUH’s occupational safety and hygiene network. In the coming period, IUH will continue to maintain regular training, while investing in modern facilities, equipment, and methods to meet the demands of sustainable development and international integration.
